constant state of confusion
I haven't started yet but there are things I am looking forward to:

Not having to calculate if I will have enough analogs to make it until I get paid again. Or that sinking feeling when I reach my last pack and still have 2 days until payday.
I can go buy a candy bar or a taco without thinking that I am spending my cigarette money. So basically the obessesion with making sure I have enough cigarettes to get me through to payday. It is stressfull.
Not having my son wake me up at 3 am to bum a cig.
Not smelling my own stinky hand when I scratch my nose.
Not having a cough from November to March because I have asthma and smoke. Once I get my first cold, the cough stays for months.
Not freaking cause I forgot to bring a lighter and having my car lighter shoot into the backseat every time I use it or breaking my daughter's toaster (AGAIN) cause I forgot a lighter.
Not having my cat knock my ashtray on my carpet again.
Not having to constantly watch the yellow tar out of my white bedroom curtains.

I CAN'T WAIT!!

no more dramatic coughing from total strangers walking by me.

Grrr! I always hated that! It's funny because the other day I was waiting for a mall shuttle and some lady and her friend walked up to the stop. One of them starts coughing and make some remark about smokers. I looked at her and said "This isn't a cigarette and I'm not smoking. It's just vapor, but thanks for faking!" She turned all red and they both walked away. It was the best entertainment I'd had since I started vaping!

This has been a totally informative and hilarious thread. I wish that they would sticky it! Unfortunately, I'm waiting for more "supplies" to come in and getting used to vaping. I'm still on the analogs, but I am amazed at how drastically I've cut down! I can identify with almost all of the posts, in that after 37 years of smoking I've experienced most of these things. Still can't imagine what it will be like to walk a 1 1/2 blocks without sounding like a steam locomotive. (Make that just walking out to my mailbox...)

I did forget that smoking analogs slows wound healing and increases the risk of scarring from the wound. Right now I have a 1 month old today brown recluse spider bite on my upper thigh. This thing had me in bed with flu like symptoms for a week. It is still a 1 inch by 1/2 inch hole in my leg. I know these things take a long time to heal, but I might heal faster if I didn't smoke.

I just finished a weekend marathon of installing 18 replacement windows in my house. It was not long ago that I'd be half dead changing a tire on my truck. The fact that I'm even here reading these awesome posts instead of collapsing on the couch wondering how I'm ever going to finish the other 12 windows is simply astonishing.

I am also grateful for having a true understanding for my friends and family who do still smoke. I'm happier still that I've been able to turn many of them on to vaping.

I think the BEST part is the increased energy and how much easier it is to breathe. It doesn't feel like death to run anymore. I'm not sucking wind trying to run hills! I feel so much better, like I can shave the last minute off of my 2 mile run. And the energy...I'm like a feaking powderkeg in the mornings now (still not giving up my coffee).
