Boy, the nonsense I used to have to go thru with analogs. Leaving the house and parking somewhere while I chain smoked. Having to drive around with the windows down when its 100 degrees out so it would not smell too much. worrying if I had enough time to get the smell out of my car before I picked someone up. fumbling with air fresheners and perfumes. Hiding on the side of the house. Don't have to worry about "finishing" a whole cig. cigarette butts to hide. being afraid to hug people because I would smell

all done

now, if I need a hit, I just walk in an empty room and no one is the wiser. even if someone would show up, I would not be stuck with a burning cig in my hand. I just shove it in my pocket

now, if I could just find a niquid I like, I would be happy as a pig in sh-t:blink:

can I get an AMEN!?

happy vaping everyone

They knew. When I'm next to a smoker now, I can smell it.

Yes I remember the days, oh about 20 some odd years ago when i hid smoking from the parents. I was so paranoid about it, and after it came out, well, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but they were disappointed in me, which made me feel even worse, but i still smoke till this day (hopefully not for long though).
And much luck on finding that fluid that will knock ya off the analogs, still looking for mine, something that will place hold till i can walk away from the analogs. Its pretty damn hard to be honest. I'm down to one or two a day, but still finding myself sneaking one. Though I have moved outside, which after smoking inside for sooo long, its a HUGE step. Keep with it.

First off, congratulations! :) Glad you don't have to sneak around anymore. That's such a hassle, I know. This forum has a ton of resources where you can find liquids in a wide variety of flavors. Happy vaping!

I can relate to this. I (tried) to hide it from my kids. I don't know if I was successful or not. The older one caught me a few times, but seemed to forget about it pretty quickly. I'm sure they wondered why mommy went outside so often and why I smelled bad. Now I can pop in the bathroom if I need to.

I also hid it from my parents (yeah, I'm 39, but if you knew my mom you'd understand). Luckily they live 8 hours away so I'd always have time to de-stink everything before they got here, but now I won't have to worry that there's a stray pack laying around, or inexplicable lighters scattered all over the place. I don't have to worry about airing my car out (not that I smoked much in the car because there was usually a kid in there with me). Because I hid it from my parents I'd pretty much have to abstain while they were visiting or go through some intense cleansing and perfuming ritual if I managed to sneak one in. Hopefully that is all over with now!

I can definitely agree with all that has been said here. I was a closet smoker for way too many years. My wife and kids knew I smoked, but I would go through all of the antics that others have described to get rid of the smell. I never went anywhere without a cup of coffee or soda and mints to cleanse my breath with and always went straight to the bathroom when I got home to try to wash the smell off my mustache. It's so nice to be able to kiss my wife as soon as I get home with no worries. Although sometimes she does comment about vanilla or caramel smells lingering!

I may actually miss the nic smell on my fingers. sad but true.
Old habits die hard.

No... Way... Dude! I hated that smell on my digits even while I still smoked!
I always had a small bottle of hand sanitizer which helped... A LOT!

Here's a trick I have used... stale french fries left in your car will sort of mask a faint smoke smell, or at least make it more confusing. lol.

Now that's funny, right there, I don't care who you are!
(Read the above in Larry The Cable Guy's voice) LMAO

Cant say i was a closet smoker except for when i was 14 and just started (25 years ago). Im the type of person that i dont believe in hiding anything. I am who i am and if others dont like it well thats just too bad. I may not like something they do but that dont give me the right to control their actions. Now if you dont want smoking in your home or car then yes thats your choice. However to be controlled no matter where you are with what you do is wrong on so many levels.

That being said, dont forget where we come from. Have compassion for those still smoking, and most importantly share your experience with E-cigs and maybe even let them use yours for a half hour or so. Im waiting to get a order of liquid in and i told my neighbor that she can use mine for a half hour or so to see that its really the same satisfactions without all the junk. Shes still smoking so she might not find my green apple to be real rewarding at first. I however love to vape my candy. LoL

I don't really feel bad hiding smoking from my kids. Dishonest maybe, but they are young and it's not a behavior I want to model for them. Hiding from my parents is a different story, but oh well...

Yea i understand the kids thing. I dont hide it from mine but i also make sure they know every chance i get that its a bad, nasty, dangerous thing. Ive explained the E-Cig to my 6 and 18 year old. I doubt my 3 year old would comprehend at all but my two older boys are really happy. Im still not totally analog free. Im getting there i just need a little boost from time to time. Also my Leo is a bit heavy to hold with my teeth when im using both hands like earlier when i was mowing grass. But soon enough ill be totally analog free. My goal is within 2 weeks from now. I was so there once but then i ran out of liquid. As a former 2 1/2 pack a day smoker i dont think 5-8 analogs a day is too shabby for now. I roll my own smokes so when my tobacco bag is empty then thats it. I will buy no more!
