Hey everybody how’s it going?

I am a newbie at this whole e-cig vaporizer stuff. I managed to read a whole lot on this forum, and I learned a lot. I decided to purchase a Joye 510 from CigNot and I purchased the $35 package. I want to make my original battery, atomizer, and cartridges to last as long as possible before I have to make any more purchases. Now I’ve read for the past 3 days or so trying to find the answers to my questions, but I’ve yet to find them. I’m hoping I can get a few answers with reasons as to why they work. These are my questions:

Should I charge my battery for 4 hours regardless of the “green light?”

Should I rinse my Atomizer with hot water to take off the “Lubrication” it comes with?

What is the Difference Between PG, VG, and Eco Pure? (This one I‘m really confused about)

Which should I purchase? (From the choices above)

And finally, what is the most important steps to take to make my whole e-cig last as long as possible?

Thank you for your time and responses! =)

Welcome Aboard - and this is what I would do:

1. Once you get a steady green light, your battery will not charge any more no matter how long you leave it on the charger.

2. There wouldn't be any harm in rinsing off your new atty under hot water, but I would blow it out in both directions first with your mouth into a tissue, then run it under a slow stream of hot tap water. Then blow it out again (both directions), lightly put a tissue up inside to dab up any extra water, then vape lightly and don't inhale the first few but just blow them out instead.

3. I don't know enough about the differences between PG/VG and Ecopure to post my thoughts on them.

I have had my Joye 510 from Cignot for 6 weeks now and am still using the first two atty's mine came with. I just use one for each of the two flavors I use (English Toffee & Marlboro). I also blow out each atty every night, just to keep them clean and so far no problems whatsoever.

There's little you can do to change the battery's life. Top it off, don't, leave in the charger or don't. It will eventually get weaker (lose capacity) just because of how much actual work it has done.

If you spend a lot of time in front of a computer, a USB pass-through is an excellent alternative to batteries.

The other way to reduce battery cost is to buy a "mod" (such as the Janty Stick which I've come to love, also available as a Joye Stick) which uses cheap standard batteries. These batteries also generally have a higher capacity and thus will last longer in addition to being cheaper.

PG is the most used liquid and the best understood in terms of its safety. If you don't have problems with it I suggest just using it. But some people have reported a reaction which is like an allergic reaction.

VG is more "viscous" so it doesn't wick quite as well. When people use VG they often dilute it a bit with water or alcohol. VG tastes slightly sweet and seems to produce more vapor. At high atomizer temperatures (6 volt mods, not what you are using) there is some concern that it may form a harmful byproduct.

I haven't used EcoPure but the report at http://www.intellicig.com/images/pdf/ECOpureReport2009-04-14.pdf indicates that it is made with a Glycerol base. Gycerol is the same thing as Glycerin which is the same thing as VG. Assuming in all cases that the purity is good, these are all the same chemical. So I think we can safely say that EcoPure = VG with a high guarantee of purity.

There are many differing opinions on how to extend atomizer life. I've now been using one atomizer, an 801, for three months as a fairly heavy vaper. I don't do much to maintain it and it still functions perfectly. Every 10 days or so I notice a slight change in the taste I'm getting and then I:
1) Blow it out from the battery end into a paper towel till little comes out.
2) Blow it out from the big opening end a couple of times.
3) Soak it in rubbing alcohol for a few minutes, then gently shake with rubbing alcohol in it while covering the holes.
4) Repeat steps one and two.
5) Drip a couple of drops of e-liquid directly into it to get it wet again before using.

Note that steps 1, 2, and 5 are also a good idea when you're changing flavors.

One thing I suspect may cause atomizers to die more quickly is running them at a high temperature. Some people do this deliberately to clean the atomizer, i.e. turn it on without vaping and leave it on for 5 seconds or so to burn off any gunk. I never do this. I also stop vaping as soon as it starts to taste dry, and I always keep drawing on the e-cig while it is hot to keep liquid moving through the atomizer. All just because I'm guessing that avoiding overheating is desirable.

Hi and Welcome!!!

Still consider myself a newbie - been vapping 2 months now and smoke free 3 weeks? IDK!
Thought the same as you when I first started out. Bought 2 DSE901 starter kits - and extras so that I had 4 batts, 4 attys, 2 boxes extra carts, some juice.

Ha! As you start vapping, your tastes will change. As the previous poster stated, if you're at the computer alot, you'll want a Passthrough. Later on, you'll get tired of fooling around with batteries, charging, dying, buying and will want a mod or maybe make one yourself. By then you'll be thoroughly hooked. 8-o RUN AWAY NOW!!:D

Seriously, look at your first purchase as an introduction to vapping. Get the feel for it, find out what you like, don't like, what you need, don't need.

As for batts and attys, it's really a hit and miss from what I've read. I'm still on the same ones I bought, though they don't perform as they did brand new. I'm a heavy vapper and have 2 passthroughs hooked up because my atty's get super hot.

Hope that helps.
