I know I could probably make a negative post from a solid brass pin but is there anywhere to buy parts for it? Where they screw together stripped and it feels like it isn't hitting as strong like it was.

Solid post is your best bet. It's cheap and easy. In all reality, you could just measure your current post's length, go buy a solid brass post at home depot, and then ask one of them to cut a section to that length. I'm sure they'll oblige.
