Oh meant to ask you guys - is it common to have issues with the button constantly falling back into locked mode? I'm guessing with time I'll build the muscle memory to avoid rolling it accidentally, but I wondered if maybe something was loose in there causing it to move rather easily.
I'm now in the habit of spinning it open automatically as I go to take a hit. Some people have taken the button out and pulled the little metal pin so it can no longer lock. I prefer to keep the lock so I just learned to spin it.

Dani,

The RM2 is soft brass you could do it with a pointy metal finger nail file or even a 1/16 drill bit by hand. The bit I got is not made by dremel, sorry cannot remember the name, I got it at Ace Hardware.

I drill my Rm's by hand. Takes maybe 5 minutes. I use a Ryobi set that cuts metal.

Use a Dremel drill press for my light weight work.

Same. It just comes with the whole ritual. ;)

Tried something different with the challice. It was bugging me that the coil was so far from the air intake so I tried putting it off to the side. Also put the usual contact coil in this time instead of the spaced wrap I did on the first round. So far I am liking it a lot. Vapor production is greatly improved without any perceived differences in flavor.

Thanks DB. The 8th wrap ended up getting pulled off the wind a bit during installation, but other than that the coil itself is right in the pocket for me so far. I will play with the wicking a bit more before I'm happy with that though. Was thinking about going a bit longer with that wick tail and continuing around the juice intake hole so that it forms sort of a ring around it. As long as it doesn't sag into the juice intake hole I figure more cotton will just save me a squonk or two.

Scratch's daily YARQ (yet another reo question)

Does anyone have a link that shows how to change the button cover? Do I just pull it off or is there more involved? I am quite keen on getting a black delrin BC now (I blame DB's enabling here...) ;)

OT EDIT: Sheesh - just took a minute to appreciate how long the aqua tank has been sitting here with the last fill of ACB I did on Tuesday. Clearly this lil reo is getting all my attention.

use a small flat head screw driver to pry it off gently around the edges and then pull it off,, or keep popping it up..

Since we so often get our inspiration from others, decided to toss a build on the Chalice the Scratch Man way just to check it out. Used 28g and went to a 1.5 mm build without getting too crazy @ 0.8 ohms. I've taken to spreading the outside coils a bit with a fine Exacto knife blade lately and although it may look like a lot of wick, it's really not. It's simply fluffed and tucked with a sewing needle is all. I have to say, the vapor production is defiantly up with little effect on the flavors.

Good call Scratch Man! :thumb:

Thanks SD. And to put a new one on you just snap it in place?

Yes, the new should ship a little piece of thread. Lay the thread over the top of the button and press the button cover on over it.

Before doing this test fire with the button in place to make sure you are getting enough travel out of the firing pin to connect with the battery. If not put a little piece of paper or such inside the button cover to raise it up and give you more travel.

Nice one DB. I don't think I could center mine like that though. For whatever reason the air intake on mine ends up off center. So the off centered placement on the build I did lines up exactly with where the air intake hole sits.

Awesome thanks Beast. Off to order my button now. Would have been nice to think of this when I ordered my brass door and bottles. I swear I think vapers are personally responsible for keeping the USPS going these days
