As long as it works I'm good with it! I guess it was a good decision to hold on to them!

Reading the ohms on a build isn't the end of the world, but much better to test it with the cap on your rda to make sure you aren't putting a short on your REO. Yes, the spring would collapse, but no one wants to deal with that. I have used all sorts of mods to test my builds. I have an ohm meter, but don't always use it. Either will keep you from putting a short on an unregulated device.

You are so right! Ok I quit! One REO will be enough, right? I will not give in to any more buying! I think I should surprise him with a new Ugly Stick tomorrow! The kind you fish with! Thanks for all the help you guys! I'll update when I am vaping with the REO gang, if I am not the target!

Until you want a second... You know it's gonna happen... Ask Distorto and FB how many they have... I'm just a rookie, I only have 4...

Congrats on the Reo, hope it works out for you this time!

Pssst... Hubby is gonna need a reel to go with that Ugly Stick... just saying...

The button top AW batteries are the best for a Reo. The AW IMR 1600 is 24 amp max battery the 2200 is a 20amp max battery. The 1600 holds higher voltage longer so it hits slightly harder, the 2200 last slightly longer on a charge. I also use flat top Sony VTC4, VTC5 and LG HE2 batteries. The flattops are more prone to arcing and pitting especially if you sub ohm. They also cause the firing pin to need to bend to more. Overtime this might cause issues to appear sooner.

Deoxit or noalox on the contacts can prevent the arcing, some noalox will come with the Reo.

I use them all but prefer to use AW 1600 or 2200 batteries and those will be what I buy for my next purchase.

Word!.........

Ok! I got the AW batteries and a charger! Dummy me forgot an ohm meter so if you all think it will work can I continue to use my MVP to check my coils or do I need to go shopping again???? Wow! I am way over $240 already. Oh well, Mr. Chili got a new rifle scope and I got a REO! I said we were even and then he pointed to my containers of juices, ISticks, tanks, coiling materials, and so on and so on!!!! I guess he will be on his way to Cabelas soon!

Firearms, fishing rods or Reo's, you always need more than just one! ;) Congratulations Chili! :)

Hi FB! Not arguing with you here, but I'm not sure if saying AW batteries are best for a Reo is quantifiable.

I use the 2200 AW as well as the button top SX30 (VTC4 rewrap) and I get as good or better performance from the SX's than the AW's, not to mention longer run time with my lower builds. I am aware that Rob has recommended the AW's for quite some time and I am not sure if that's because AW's are the only battery he runs with or what. The Xtar's are also a VTC4 rewrap (not sure if the come in a button top though) so there are a couple of batteries out there that compete extremely well with the AW's...Here's a link to the Dampfakkus comparison between VTC4's and AW's 2200. Sony beat the AW. AkkuDB

The AW's were historically recommended for Reos, because at that time they were the best. The Reo was designed to use them it's said.

They are still pretty good batteries and for most users they will be easily more than enough - a 24A 1600 mAh battery is a good battery.

It fails even today only against 30A batteries, so an AW lets you run (theoretically) a 0.175Ω coil and a 30A allows a 0.14Ω coil. Not much in it.

that is against the 2200 not the 1600, I have to rerun some tests but if IIRC my 1600 had a lower internal voltage drop than the VTC 4 I have.

It's no big deal FB...we are dealing with minutia when comparing top of the line batteries...

Didn't even pick up that I chose the 2200 for the comparison and AkkuDB doesn't have data on the 1600...

We're comparing Fuji to Rome apples here. They both rock!

Agreed, and thanks for the chart, I wish the battery and flashlight guys did more testing. I'll now be paying closer attention to see if my seat of pants meter matches the chart when I run AW 2200 vs. when I run VTC 4 batteries.

the chart I really what to see is a AW 2200 against a 1600.

VTC`s are definitely better in every way than the aw`s ....just sayin, vacs are all I use...I recommend them in my bottom feeders, I do that because they are the best, it's possible that someone would recoded a battery for their mod because they know it to fit.

Well the VTC 5s are definitely faked better. I know VTC4s that are authentic are fairly easy to come by. Wish Sony would take more of an interest in having vendors like RTD carry VTC 5s from them. I have even bought fake VTC 5s from reputable shops around here where they were fooled into buying them and trying to resell them. I went through far too much work getting a refund. I will be quite happy if authentic VTC 5s are readily available at a reasonable price. No doubt they are good batteries.
