Master- Ring of Fire (originally done by Johnny Cash, obviously.)

Actually, it's not that obvious... but that's what everybody thinks, because The Man in Black made it so popular... LOL!!

Quoted from Wikipedia:

"Ring of Fire" or "The Ring of Fire" is a country music song popularized by Johnny Cash and co-written by June Carter Cash (wife of Johnny Cash) and Merle Kilgore. The single appears on Cash's 1963 album, Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash. The song was originally recorded by June's sister, Anita Carter, on her Mercury Records album Folk Songs Old and New (1963) as "(Love's) Ring of Fire".

Here is June Carter's original arrangement as it was first performed by her sister Anita.... :D

Not to detract from the Winners, but I am confused about the judging for the songs... since the way it was stated in the OP implies that there would be more than one person doing it.

Taste in music is as subjective as somebody's taste in e-juice, and I don't think it's really fair to leave it up to only one person...

Just my :2c:

I see your point, but I can appreciate Ceegary's situation also. I'm sure participants on both sides of the contest scratched their heads at some point. The lack of specific criteria did nothing to ease the confusion.

I suggest a contest where the winner is selected democratically. I think the forum software has the capability to set up a voting system. If entries were limited to one per contest period, and any ECF member could vote, whether they submitted an entry or not, the winning entry would be a consensus choice.
I know what you're thinking: Everyone would vote for their own submission and it would be one big tie. It should be possible to simply prohibit a vote for your own entry, I think.

Anyway, it's just a suggestion for consideration.

So we'll go with a "Kevin Bacon" Day for the 2nd to last day for the contest.
I think this contest is awesome, and I don't really care how the winners are chosen. Not to downplay the awesomeness of Aroma, but it is for a $12 bottle of juice which most people participating here will buy in the next week or so anyway! It's mostly about having fun and sharing music.
First up- Limp Bizkit covering George Michael's "Faith".

Hey Aaron,

I can see this problem was going to come up. Maybe on a contest in the very near future we will come up with another option for the winners. However, I thought when others voted for one another it starts to become a popularity contests. In the past I struggled deciding who would be the winner (all the entry's were great). Random generator is the easy way to go but I stand behind ceegary rules and support his choice. Nevertheless, I will hold another contest very soon and will come up with a different solution for the winners. The goal is to have fun and learn about what you and others enjoy.

I just got off the plane so give me a day to catch up with my cohorts and come up with some ideas.

Also I'm always open to suggestions.

Actually, what I did today would make a great social chain thread. Once this contest is over I might start a cover thread like it! Post a cover by the artist covered in the previous post. I'm not gonna do it yet though, cuz unique covers are at a premium to post for the JUICE.

NICE.....

Here you go....and I will refrain from additional posts in this thread.

Here is a Elton cover with a extra coat of punk. :)

The purpose of this contest was to have fun posting any covers and seeing what everyone else puts up. It wasn't meant to be defined, because that would be a limit for some people. We realized that making it dealer's choice means it's subjective, but this is not the first contest run like that. Funniest joke, best pic or story... all subjective and that's why we also included a random prize.

For those who were more intent on figuring it out so they could win a prize, or upset because they thought they should've won a prize, I apologize, it just wasn't that kind of a contest. So despite that, I hope you had some fun and there are still two prizes to go.
