As for training zombies... it really depends on what kind of zombies and what Tech is still viable... in the case of "The Walking Dead" type or "28 days later" zombies where the brain has been reactivated or is still active... there was a headband that the some company was working on that sent electrical impulses into the brain to simulate a feeling of motion for so that if you were on a roller coaster simulator or whatever you would "feel" like you were moving.... well one of the concerns about the tech was that if you used it to stimulate a slightly different part of the brain you would be about to actually induce movement... So with such a technology you could programmable people... or zombies as the case may be....

As far as catching one.... I wouldn't personally am a little evil... rather than try to catch a zombie... I would wait until I had a group of 4 or 5 people that had shown that they were a danger to our community and would otherwise be banished.... I would put the headband on them THEN infect them.... after which we could use our controlled zombies to capture more zombies for the headbands... thus we wouldn't risk valuable members of the group.

And am quite relieved by the cloning option- though IMO creativity, the ability to think, problem solve, and act count for more than an IQ number (even though i'm probably still bait with either option  )

Quite right... but the ability to learn to problem solve is in part IQ dependent... realistically I am not sure at all sure that IQ measures intellegence... it seems to me its more a measure of communitcation/understanding ability.... but I higher ability to understand and communicate gives way to better thinking and problem solving

in theory you're correct- and it depends on how you measure IQ. IQ testing as it currently stands measures the ability to takes tests within a specific cultural context. But you and I likely agree that basically we want people with a high functional IQ, and that can be determined by actions during the zombpocalypse. Which is a good thing 'cause we're probably not going to have access to IQ scores anyway.
