Do you mean to say that it suffers from the same problems as the Kick, because you said the dna...when in fact it is a dna mod.

i meant the dna, ive read some similar issues with modders who've wired up the dna not getting above 9-10 watts. i know the opus was a dna mod, but wondered if it would have the same issues since they worked directly with evolv.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I hadn't heard about the problems. Hope you get this solved quickly. Best of luck!

Has Brandon from evolv said anything about these issues? Curious if it's a DNA issue or a wiring issue? You would think that evolv of all companies would have made sure this thing outkicks the Kick if they're claiming 12 watts. I find this very surprising.

ive been reading the evolv forums seeing a few of these discussions going on, retird apparently forwarded the problems and concerns to brandon. still waiting on word from him, im very curious to see what he thinks.

This is the first issue I have heard as well...This is a different board than the DNA...Its very similar but not exactly the same .... I have backed out numbers on three or four of them and the lowest I have measured was 11 watts...I would have to see the numbers myself but even then cant really comment without speaking directly to Opus or Brandon...Let me know how it works out after charging. Thanks
Drew

fully charged, turned all the way to max on opus dial, volt meter reading between 3.6-3.65 with a 1.3 ohm atty. swapped the atty to the darwin, dialed it to 12 watts exactly, darwin reads 4.1 volts, meter reads between 4.03-4.06. i guess that means the opus is maxing somewhere near 9watts. damn, i was hoping the charge would help.

wanted to be sure that it was an atty thing, so i tested 3 ohm and 2 ohm atties with exactly the same results.

Alright I just talked to Brandon...If the numbers you are giving me are accurate then there may be a problem with your OPus. I would ask that you send it back and I will replace it for you...Sorry for the inconvenience...
For the record ( which Brandon just made extremely clear) there are no known issues with the DNA 12, which is apparently quite different from The Opus DNA board.
Brandon is just back from a short trip, but just spent around 20 minutes or more explaining the differences from the Opus board and the DNA 12!!!
At any rate I am sorry for the inconvenience.
Drew

amazing customer service, drew. ill pm you to make sure i have the right shipping info.

looking forward to getting a working unit. this thing feels so sweet in the hand and looks absolutely gorgeous. amazing craftsmanship for sure.

edit: looks like i cant PM you, should i just ship it back to the "Half Measures" address on the shipping label you sent?

also, i didnt mean to imply there was a problem with the dna 12...ill wait to see what brandon thinks about what breaktru and mamu have experienced.

Got one of these on Friday & thanks for such fast shipping! Hubby got me one for my birthday.

I would NOT have ordered an Opus for myself since my hands are small box mods always feel so awkward, but this thing just feels great in my hand. It's amazingly light too. Friday night a couple of new io6 3.5 ohm attys refused to work, but were ok on the Darwin. The Opus works better after an overnight charge and seems to hit very similar to my Darwin. We took the new baby to a Vape Meet tonight & so far it works with just about everything we've put on it.

Thanks Drew for providing another quality device & helping to make my birthday a great one! :D

I got to fondle Dawn's Opus at the meet on Saturday... her husband's too lol.

I too worried about how it would feel in my hand, size, etc. Man... feels really nice in hand. Not too big or heavy. The wood is lovely. Someone else had a smaller wood mod the touchwood or something and that little bugger was heavier than the Opus though it was MUCH smaller sized.

The Opus reminds me of a classy, old school Zippo coffee table lighter. I likey!

Just got mine and it's charging now. Thanks Drew :D
