I'll work on it. And if it's good, may I put it in my sig line? ;)

Nice to "see" you, too!

Come on, Opus-itians, where are ya!? (Opus-ites? Opus Grovians? Opans? What ARE we?)
Well we determined that the plural of Ωpussies, so that's taken. No, really, Ωpera would be the correct plural, so as owners we could be called the former, but I'm not thinking it'll catch on. Ωpera buffs? Might be worse even. As far as the sig line, you may put anything you like as can anyone else. I've had people like and not like what I've said, which is to be expected.

Something like an Opus with the dna 20 in it would totally rock everyone's socks.

Maybe, if you like that many watts. But I was talking more about end cap and wood materials and finishes. But it could be their plan, hopefully as long as the dial still goes down to what it does now.

An Opus with an OLED display would rock my socks. I rarely go above 9 watts, so I wouldn't dig it for the wattage, more so for the screen. It would slightly hinder the clean look of the wood, but I'd still buy one. I'd still love to see some different end caps and dial options. But we shall see what the new years brings.

Mine'll be on it's way back to me tomorrow. I've been without it for almost 2 weeks now. I'm having some serious withdrawals.

More bad luck. My 2 month old Opus quit firing. With the meter on it blinks but when you add the atty to it or push the button it stops without firing. Happened after a couple 801 hits today then died. Hate to be without it but I guess it'll be going to the shop.

What happened to yours?

Why so long?

And what's an OLED?

Thanks for playing! :2cool:

It's bugging me to no end, this thing is my favorite PV. In the past month and a half I've had to send in a Darwin, this Opus, and a Clearmax. Prior 2 years, nothing. I guess the law of averages is catching up with me. Good thing I'm within the 3 month warranty. How about some sympathy for drewbalicious and me and sorry you missed out on the SW buddy, if I see one go back on sale because of pre-order cancellation, I'll hit you up but watch that forum cuz it's happened a few times already.

Nothing major happened to mine. It was cosmetic stuff. I was clumsy and dropped it a few times, so the top and bottom cap became a bit wobbly where they screw into the wood. Still don't understand the design concept behind screwing brass screws directly into the wood. But that doesn't stop me from loving it all the same. :) Well it took about 3 days for my Opus to get there, then another day or 2 for them to diagnose the problems, then a few more days for them to receive their parts, then a couple more days to put it all back together. You can see how the 2 weeks adds up pretty stinkin' quick! Hopefully I'll have it back by Saturday.

This is the new board that Evolv is coming out with: VaperCon: Evolv DNA 20D (20 Watt Modders Board With OLED Display) - YouTube I'd love to see a modder out there form that thing to fit in an Opus style mod. It'd be the cat's pajamas!

I knew about the board I just didn't know what the "O" stood for....lol. I would love to see what modders come up with but for me it would be like " Hey our amps go to 11!" when I only ever turn it up to 6....haha. I'm not sure about an LED on a wood mod, the Opus is just fine with the dial IMO, but I would like to see it in metal or other materials not just the clear tube mod prototype.

My Opus was not working at all and doing some odd things with a resistance meter that stumped the boys so this should be interesting next week when Brandon and Roger take a gander at it. Cheers mate.

My buddy had the same problem. Has sent it in twice now. Apparently there is a heat syncing problem with the DNA12 in the Opus from what I've heard.

That's odd. I guess I got lucky with mine. I never seemed to have any issue with the internals. And I even dropped mine a few times  and she kept on ticking.

Well not sure what was wrong yet, but it came back today working again so that was fast. I'm happy and going to get another especially if they come out with new end caps.

So now of course my Grado headphone amp goes kaput. Out of warranty. Ouch.

Drew, if you can justify the cost somehow, get some RS1's and the amp. That's what I have and along with my Etymotic ER4's with Headroom amp, they are 1 and 2 of the best headphones I've had. Even through an iPod and the headphone amp, the sound is incredible. The sound stage is center front of stage for many recordings. So many veils removed from the sound. Makes even Sennheisers sound veiled. Of course it only applies if you're an audiophile of some type. If an ipod with cheap headphones makes you happy, then that's cool, but if you're at home relaxing or hey if you're at home working nobody can see you... :)

Yes, they look nice off but when you're wearing them you don't look cool that's for sure. But I see all these ding dong's walking around with those Dre headphones that blow chunks but look cool and the first pro athlete I see rocking a pair of Grados will be my new favorite ...lol.

I had a problem with my RS1's a couple years ago and their policy is, we'll fix them for $100, no matter what's wrong, within reason (out of warranty). So big or small repair, that's how they roll. I'm expecting something similar for my amp. I may be able to fix it, as all that happened was a wire came loose from the 9V batter clip connector. Tried preliminary fix, but it was still not working right, got very low volume distorted sound so I'm afraid it may have shorted. We'll see.

It's not that these things are maintenance prone like an old Jag, I have had these since like 1998.

I'd never heard of Grados, had to google 'em. Is all I can say about the price. For me they would have to blow out little bits of gold dust once a week. But who am I to talk. I have more than that invested in mods that I can only use one at a time.

LOL...Exactly....Its weird how we justify the spending and saving in our minds!

DId I mention how much I like your screen name? That's an awesome looking Dog there also!!! I always wanted one of them too...I bought a Red Nosed AM Staff at a show when I was younger and she died of Parvo 3 days later...Broke my heart....The Breeder replaced her with a Male Blue Brindle which was the only one left of the litter....He was one of the greatest friends I ever had...Thorton Baccus, (Thor) ....great looking Dog there...

Indeed you have commented on the name. :) Said you were going to name a juice after it and give me some free samples. ;) That dog was my best friend for 11 years, hell I treated her more like my daughter than a friend. She was a pound puppy, but definitely had some Staff in her, with always assumed the other half was pit. But she was one of the sweetest dog's I've ever met. Stinkin' liver cancer got her last year. Sad day to say the least.
