I have an issue with my new D. It worked fine and then it said check battery, figured it just need to be charged. Its been on the charger now for 2 hours and still nothing, no screen light up no vape, no love :( I tried pressing the button 5 times in case it was locked but still nothing. Did my new D just die on me less than 6 hours after getting it, or am I missing something here? Any input on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a different charger? Earlier in the thread someone was having a similar problem, turned out to be a bum charger. Hopefully yours will be something simple like that. Good luck! :)

Ok...I sent an email earlier, but me suspicion os the charger also....Another thing to consider is that when then OpusD goes into "sleep" mode when you push the button the first time, there is delay sometimes until the battery indicator is also in sleep mode. So the readout may say "Check Battery" but once the indicator cycles and reads the actual battery power fully it will change. I find this happens more often as the battery level gets lower....I try to NEVER run it totally dead and I usually try and charge it when it gets down to a quarter of the indicator. I dont even know why I like to charge it then? I guess I just feel like Im treating it better and increasing the overall life of the internal battery. Recently I have been testing SO many new products that its not an inconvenience for me, and it forces me to give the other devices run time.

I have been told by a modder that is very familiar with the DNA 20 and Lipo batteries that it is best to charge it when it is nearly out of power and I was also told that Lipos are good for about 300 charges.Make of that what you will, just thought I would put it out there and that is how I am charging my Opus D currently.

The DNA20 has a cutoff at about 3.2 volts, I believe this is what I was told, at 3.2 it won't hurt to run it til it's dead, especially with the chemistry being LIPO, from my understanding, which is a more stable chemistry than other Lithium chemistry batteries.

Even knowing this though, I usually charge my Opus D when it gets below 50%/halfway point, because just like the Darwin, the meter is not always spot on, and plus, I usually keep it in rotation with a couple of other mods, and I can go a couple of days without charging before I get it that low, but I don't push it past that because it will die on me on that 3rd day lol

Yup I have tried 3 different USB cables plugged into my computer, laptop and the charger for my Darwin, All with charge other devices, but still no love from my Opus.

Drew emailed me back and had me contact Opus. I am currently awaiting a response back from them. I only had it for 6 hours and I already miss it. Doesn't help that my Darwin is out for repairs... I am just not having a good time with my VW devices lately I guess. But I do love them.

But my Kick is still workingso I am getting by. :)

Here's a new one on me. My ohm readout is stuck reading a certain ohm, no matter what I put on it. Hmmm, interesting. Doing a complete battery drain now to see if it resets. I'll report back with any info.

Yeppers, a battery drain fixed me right up. Hope I don't have to do it many more times. I'm paranoid about fully draining batteries.

Had a similar thing with one of the dna20d mods I built.....turned out to be a defective usb charging board....replaced the usb board and all is well....
