Bit of a rubbish post, but I'm chuffed, and wanted to share.

So yeah, I'm over three months into vaping. The significant other was still smoking. I didn't mind, she wasn't ready to quit. Fair enough.

Last night we were driving home and discussing the ever diminishing bank balance and she turns around and says "lets get me some patches". Now, she has kinda quit in the past (3months) with the patch so that's progress - so we stop and get her loaded up with three weeks worth of patches.

She took a few vapes off my mod last night and went to bed pretty much smoke free.

This morning, she had one. She then found a "stray" e-cig in the car this morning (it's fate, I'm sure). She's now hooked up with a simple e-go setup with pineapple liquid, patch on, sweating through the cravings, but I'm proud of her :D

One step at a time, but hopefully she will get there (however she gets there) e-cigs or not.

Good times

:vapor:

I'm secretly hoping I can move onto mech mods now, and she can have my tanks/vamo/wicks etc....

But seriously, she's coming onboard to vaping (with patches early days) Going to town on the DIY liquids next month to find her perfect blend. I'm pleased, her health is deteriorating rapidly smoking :(

That's great! Just please tell her be careful since using the patch AND the ecig can be bad! That's essentially double dipping the nicotine and can make her sick. Maybe ejuice in an equivalent nicotine to what she smoked would suffice to get rid of the patches and vape on :)

Oh, and I recall one failed attempt at quitting when she had a 24 hour, 24mg patch on, and smoked through 25grams of tobacco - that was a long night. She suddenly wondered why she couldn't sleep ha-ha

To date, she's been a hopeless addict. I'm just hoping the vaping will creep up on her and take over the job of the patch. Here's hopin'

Get her on 24mg nic juice. Have her treat it like smoking. I was a PAD newport smoker for the last 24 years. My first week with my ego I was down to less than half. I got 24mg juice after that and two days later I was done with cigarettes. Those patches are time released, and honestly 24mg a DAY isn't near enough to stop the horrible cravings.

I used them back in 2010/11 and ended up with rashes after a couple weeks from the adhesives. But they just barely took the edge off the cravings. I did manage to quit for 8 months, but then I went back for another 3 years. I wish I knew about vaping back then. Now I can sit in my house at my desk and puff all I want.

Tell her good luck for me!!

I'd love her to get on vaping full time, I really would. She sees it as "not quitting" and won't entertain it. She still maintains I've not dealt with my addiction (even though I'm down to 10mg on a bad day, less on a normal day, mg in my DIY). She doesn't want to move to vaping, but wants to use a patch with a e-cig when it gets tough.

It's not the approach I'd take, but seriously, I just want her to quit - it's literally whatever she wants right now. I hope to put more emphasis on vaping long term, but she's calling the shots.

I've shown her the thread, she passes on her thanks :D

Be Careful what you wish for. if you're not DIY your juice start buying the ml bottles. lol We've bought ml this month. Hope it lasts a little longer than a month.

Ha-ha yeah the cost can escalate, but considering what she spends now...we were both a puffing through 30 ciggies each, every day. I DIY my liquid now so hopefully even if she hits the dizzy heights of 10ml a day (guilty as charged) then we'd save.

Hate being broke. But being broke got me vaping, and I wouldn't change that for all the tea in China :D
