I must be frustrated. I don't normally start threads and I am
L O S T.

All batteries referenced here are regular manuals.

So, I received a new gold/blue on Wednesday.
I also have a gunmetal/green from February,
and a chrome/green from October.
I just gave away my gold/pink from June last week.

My PCC is from my April 2010 starter kit.

At first when I received the gold/pink I had to screw it on the PCC about 20 times before I could get the button to lay on top and not be depressed when closing the lid. It took a lot of doing but it worked and all was well.

When I received the
chrome/green I also had to repeatedly screw the battery on and off until I could get the button to land on top.

Now that the
gold/blue is here, I cannot get it to screw on without the button getting depressed (and I'm getting depressed as well). Apparently I never even tried to charge the gunmetal/green before the new gold one arrived and it won't screw on correctly either.

Once the LED blinks 3 times, the button is facing way from me and is depressed when tucked down. If I twist it as hard as I can, it will go as far as facing me, but is depressed again when tucked down.

So, does it matter if the button is depressed when charging?
Tips, thoughts, opinions?

In my best Lucille Ball,...."WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

My PCC doesn't have felt on the top lid, so the button doesn't get pressed no matter how it lays in the case. If you can remove the felt from the lid you'll have a lot of room to play. The XL's will charge but you just can't close the lid shut while charging. Does this answer your question or am I on the wrong page with ya? :)

I have no felt in my PCC. Didn't know any of them did. (!) Yes sir, I have no bananas, or carrots, or XL's for that matter.
One battery screws in with the button left exposed pointing upwards and un-depressed, while the other two batteries end up button depressed anywhere in the bottom half of the case. Clear as mud? lol.

I've had that issue Ms. ThankU4Vaping. Some manuals screw in just right so that their button gets pushed.... The only cure I've found is to raise the post up so you don't have to screw it so far, or push the post further down by screwing it all the way in (which will need re-adjustment on certain cartos)...

I've always had to force mine to clear the black plastic housing, and after they have been forced once, I never have to force them again. I thought that trick was going to work on these two new batts, but no...they do screw all the way in threadwise, but the button landing location is not good. Raising the post makes more sense to me (if I dare). Thanks!

Hmmmm. What if you let the battery charge by screwing it in and remaining upright instead of laying it down in the groove?
Know what I mean jelly bean? lol

Yeah, I know what you mean jelly bean! It will charge the battery and the button won't be depressed, either. I did think of that, but it was designed to be closed while charging a regular or shorty battery, and if by design it is okay to charge it with a depressed button, I won't worry about it again.

It's like this, Max...you know how awkward it is to have an open PCC with battery attached in your purse? I thought so! lol
