Initially for me the T-Rex was a decent bit of kit and I did enjoy using it very much. I mean when the thing wasn't self destructing at it's weakest point it worked great and it played a role in getting me off the analogs so credit where credit is due. I say again tho that I didn't drop mine, didn't throw it at my dog in a game of fetch or whatever else you can think of...I pretty much just used it as one normally would use a PV. In total I had 4 batteries that failed rather quickly with seemingly normal use. Could the failures have been related to a combination of heat, adhesive choice, a bad batch of plastic, factory tooling issues etc? I don't know and can do nothing but speculate, say WTF and move on to something that works for me...which I have.
With respect to Vapors Kitchen...
Well when I stand back and ponder the whole ordeal something that comes to mind is that maybe they got sold on a not so great product too. It's like do they have an in house mechanical engineer that could evaluate the product and say hey that plastic center bit holding these things together could potentially be a source of problems? I highly doubt they have or ever will have an engineer on the payroll and with that in mind I guess I can understand why they would assume that I was doing something that was causing the product to fail in the way that it did.
Now for some good news...
This past Monday Vapors Kitchen issued a refund for the purchase price + taxes that I paid for my T-Rex starter kit.
I offer a thank you and a handshake to Vapors Kitchen for that
