Most of those who I noticed as regular posters on the forum a year ago seem to be absent now, although that's an impression and not a proven fact.

One of those regular posters a year ago was me, so where did I disappear to?

I reached the plateau, the place where I was content with the vaping equipment I was using and lost interest in new gizmos. When the new devices coming along no longer fascinated me I ceased wanting to read comments from users, I knew - or thought I knew - all the answers on my type of vaping, and I stopped dropping by.

So that was me. Are you pretty satisfied with your vaping setup? Kinda settled on what you want and no longer considering splashing cash on new kit? I'll say goodbye then! And welcome to the plateau.

You nailed my experience too, Sunshine. There are so many choices out there, both methods and hardware, that I couldn't keep up, especially once I settled on systems that work well for me. Add to that the greater numbers of members/posters since I joined and it turns out too time-consuming to keep up with the new topics and posts. Good choice of topic heading "The Plateau" because it's exactly what happened to me.

I think that's pretty normal. If you take notice, most of the old time posters that are still active are older & retired.
At almost 75 I find the forum a great way to keep my mind active.

And, why wouldn't it be normal? After you found the brand of cigarettes that you liked, how much time did you devote to researching other brands?
Most just find what they like and then move on with life.

What I find funny is every now & then I get sucked into the hype, and buy something new. Then the first thing I know, I'm trying to make it work just the same as I've always vaped.

That last part struck a chord for me tj, I'm pretty settled on what works for me, and it seems each time I give in and try something new, it winds up shelved after a short time and I go back to my old faithful's. The entertainment value keeps me visiting the forum more than anything else.

I reached the plateau almost 3 years ago. :) So much new has come out in the past 2 years that it's mind boggling to me to even begin to keep up with it all so I don't even try. ;) I do skim through new stuff once in a while just so I'm not completely lost, but other then an occasional new toy to keep things interesting I'm perfectly content with my stash of vape toys.

People come and go from ECF for lots of reasons. As tj99959 said, being retired means I have time to browse occasionally, not to mention that are still people here that I enjoy conversing with on ECF.

I think I've reached the plateau . I am finally content with my vape gear although it's taken me a long time to get here. Not interested in tc or new tanks. I'm rocking a defender 36watt mod with an Arctic tank at 0.5 ohms and it's a great vape. When my equipment wears out I'll have to buy something else but hopefully that's in the distant future. By the way i didn't find my first vape very satisfying a dse 801 pen style but it did eventually get me off the cigs. The plateau is a great place to be. Cheers

I've been in and out since 2010. I came back when most recently when my eGo Twists stopped doing the job for me and my old Vaporbomb gave up the ghost. I started finding stuff online about sub ohms, regulated mods and rebuildable coils so I decided it was time to jump back in here again to find out what was really going on. I ended up getting a PVI D2 mod with a Kanger Sub Mini tank and I'm more than happy with them. Been using the 0.5 ohm coils. Not sure if I will get into the rebuildable coils or not. For now, I think I'm on a new plateau as far as hardware goes but I'm still playing with my liquids. (And probably always will be.) I will likely stick around for awhile though because I enjoy a lot of the discussions on the forum and I try to be encouraging to the new people just coming into vaping.

I've been vaping for over 6 years.
And for the last 4 years I've been completely satisfied with my gear.

Dripping on 510 atomizers with an Ego Twist.

I know that is not the equipment most here would like to settle on.
But that's not my point here.

My point is that I'm still here, but for only one reason...
To continue to help advocate for vaping.

If not for that, I would have moved on a long time ago.

I was pretty settled for a year or so; I had my EVODs and Protanks, a Sigelei ZMax 2, a few eGo batteries, plus a mech and a Plume Veil to play around with. Then...I started smashing glass tanks; I got frustrated with the mech; paid too much for an original KBox (which then stopped working) and started looking at small RTAs which drew me back into the fold. Now I'm a dedicated Tootle Puffer as well as a Modwomper.

Since I found the Achilles RDA, I've been so pleased with my vape, I really can't think of any reason to get anything else -- except maybe another Achilles or 2; same for the Coolfire IV -- getting those two custom-etched with my name, for my no-smoke-a-versary, since I already had one CF4 and knew I really liked it... just don't see any need for anything more.

I keep hanging around for the very obvious reason... I have no life. :D And I like to help others get started with vaping, and also like to keep up with the political shenanigans around vaping.

And it's nice to see what new gear comes out, even if I have little to no interest in acquiring it -- it's nice to see how the technology evolves.
