Ummm? Did I miss something ... are they not offering the Classic any longer? I have a Cloud Wizard and UMA and use them all the time. Look great and vape great!

There are a few Classics in 18350 and 18500, at least there were when I looked yesterday, but yeah, the Poldiac is coming to an end after three years and there will be no more when those are gone. If you want one in those sizes you'd best move fast. Miriam told me that they are having to move to a smaller building, and have to reduce stock to fit into it, which I'm sure also means they won't have the room to keep making Poldiacs or even stock them.

I reckon I want a side button, cos that's what I'm used to - I'm not bothered about appearance but value reliabilty and functionality. fasttech reviewers tend to say the Poldiac clone has button issues, so I'm looking at the auth.

Does the auth have button issues? Does it have competition for side button firing? Does the button lock, and if so how?

I want an 18350 mech, and would be grateful if people could reply and summarise the thread and tell me why I want to spend 75 euros (inc postage) for a tube of metal I can get on FT for $10.

Many thx

When I looked yesterday they had a very few 18350 and 18500 Poldiacs left. And NO, the authentic Poldiac does not have the button issues the wretched clone (the Poordiac) had.
You lock the button on the Poldiac by depressing it halfway and rotating the shirt over it. It will not fire the mech that way, and the button cannot be further depressed.

Buy the clone if you like, but be aware you get what you pay for, and very soon there will be no more Poldiacs made in Greece by MMV. Then you will have to chase them down for sale used, and the price will just keep going up. I expect in time the authentic Poldiacs will be collector's items commanding very high prices. Plan accordingly.

If you still want a Poldiac 18650, there are very few left. In fact there are only 2 left, the colored edition, one blue and one purple. After that no more ever. Jump on it if you want one, these are the very last 18650's they will ever make. They have only 3 models of the 18500 size left, 1 Freddy Classic, 1 Full Satin Classic, and 1 each of the 18500 Classic Colored Edition.

So it's ending really fast kids, stake your claim real soon.

ah, that's sad to hear. But for the 2 Classic's I have I'm set OK. I have all three tube sizes and also one each of both style shirts. Just a shame they will be no more.

I seem to be having an issue with my Poldiac. I have to put a fair amount of pressure on the button to get it to fire. I also find that I have to kind of hunt around while pressing the button to get it to fire. As in, pressing it dead center doesn't always work, sometimes I have to press toward the top or to one side or the other. There's no rhyme or reason to it.

Any ideas of how to remedy this?

I have the same problem.

I disassembled it tonight to clean & check the parts. They look good, but I’m getting 114 ohms through the switch assembly measured from the little reverse threaded screw on top to the one on the bottom.

Let you know when you find the answer. I'm stumped & sleepy.

I had that problem when I first got my Uma Classic, but somehow it went away with use in a day or so. Now it just takes a light touch on the button to fire it. I'm not sure what the issue was. In other news, my third Poldiac, the Freddy Classic is on the FedEx truck and coming to me. This was the very last 18650 Freddy Classic MMV had. I also got the last Uma Classic they had. I really do treasure my Poldiacs :)

For a good cleaning method for the switch please look here: MMVapors | Page 32 | E-Cigarette Forum post# 631
Also MM's forum is a good source of info, And there are vids on MM's site for correct switch assembly. :)
I believe Jim monitors that forum more closely.
Thanks for pointing in the right direction, oplholik.

I saw an article once that showed them taking out the button shaft, removing the magnet on the end, shaving off about 1 mm, reattach the magnet w glue and problem solved.

They were discussing the tolerance of the magnets saying there is not much room in the button housing and if they are not perfectly sized they will bottom out on each other before optimal contact.

So it figures. The one part they cant control quality on may be the only issue with the mod

Interesting, very interesting.

I wanted to mention one itty bitty little petty issue with my Poldiacs, and it's that top reverse threaded contact pin. It does not stay put. If I take off the atty to screw in my battery voltage checker then put the atty back on, it does not line up like I had it. That screw in there moves, every time, and I have to fiddle with it quite a bit to get my atty to line up like it was.

Other than that, I love my Poldiacs. I'm thinking of getting a tiny little O-ring to put under that pin and see if that keeps it from moving around.

Later that same day....

It worked like a charm, I got some itty bitty O-rings and put one under that top pin, and success! The top pin stays where I put it, and my atty lines up the way I had it. Ace Hardware had them.

Funny you should mention that-- I just returned from the stores with 2 bottles of isopropyl alcohol, & the tiniest s.s. flat washers & lock washers for that reverse threaded contact screw. Mine also moved, but away from the atty so I couldn't use my Kayfuns. The Lemo 2 worked, but with some experimentation this I may get better performance.

Unfortunately while I was at the store, FedEx tried to deliver my sleek new Poldiac, & I wasn't here to sign for it.
