the "ratcheting method" doesnt mess anything up after doing this a lot?

It may. or then again, may not. I have never tired it... myself.

But due the atty's and mod's 510 being similar if the not the same in hardness, if you're distorting the mod's threading there is a good chance deformation is taking place on the atty as well.

Personally I wouldn't try it on a Poldy, but whatever works.

If you do use a die or tap to cut threads, for gods sake, please clean the chip out of the threads before screwing onto a device. A fiberglass pen brush and/or shop air or canned air would be fine.

Having been there myself, that's my spiel on threading issues.

When I got my AC9 a while back, I had a similar problem. It wouldn't thread all the way into any of my mods all the way. Apparently, this was an issue with some of the second batch of AC9s. I wasn't happy either, after spending $140 on a device, and finding that it was defective.
My solution was to search out Amazon for a die, and attempt to rework the male 510 threads on the RBA. The correct size for 510 threads is 7mm x .5. I went over the threads once, and the AC9 fit perfectly.
Flash forward to a month ago, when my Poldiac Aname arrived. I decided I'd be using my DID 20 on it. Lo and behold, the DID was a little more tight, when screwing it onto the Poldi, than I liked. It wouldn't bottom out. So I got out my trusty 7mm x .5 die, and went over the male threads on the DID. As a result, it fit perfectly. Absolutely no gap between the DID and the top of the Poldi.
The die is one of the best vape tools I've ever bought.

I hear what you are saying. But every time you torque down your atty on the poldiac it has that effect. But just to one side of the threads. What I'm suggesting just accelerates the process but to both sides.
If he thinks doing what I'm suggesting is going to hurt the poldiac. That's just shortsighted. The pressure you can add by pulling and pushing is way smaller then when we torque the addy down.
Plus to be realistic someone thinking putting a attomizer on and off to smooth the threads out is a big deal is not likely to try to re tap threads. You have experience with that. But someone who doesn't has a good chance to cross thread.

In the end he will use the one that fits for a while then one day he will try the one that doesnt and it will work. A puzzled look will come on his face :) may say huh out load. Lol.

Hasn't happened yet. A couple more things fit, but nothing I want to use.

FWIW, re-dyeing a $10 atty connection seems to make a lot more senese than re-tapping the top of a $200 mod.

In time. My friend they all will. The top cap is not 200. Don't get me wrong I feel for you. But just don't be so quick to blame the poldiac. Sounds like your atty is to blame. Since a few things fit but the one you want doesn't. I had and issue with a mini did on the poldiac. Just needed to break in a little.
I'm not sure how long you have the poldiac. I hope you Know how to clean contacts. I would hate to hear to say a 200 mod and I have to clean it all the time also.
I read some real jerks on here. The poldiac isn't for everyone but it is the hardest hitting and resilient. I hope something good happens. So your view of the product changes before you make a mistake and sell it. if you are not on the mmv forum join up there is some good info there. Best of luck. Vape on

That's all well and good. I'm just surprised that it's the first thing that doesn't work with everything I have. It's my first european device but not my first nice device (that would have been my Provari) and also my first real experience with anything resembling 510 issues. I guess this is what everyone has been complaining about. But, I haven't even had to pull a post since I was jamming 901 stuff on Mistic cig-a-likes that weren't actually 901 and were really easy to over-tighten stuff onto.

I got it last Thursday, and I do know how to clean contacts. Poldiac at least makes that easy.

Sweet.

I mean, worst case is that something's wrong with the top cap and I get MMV to send me a new one. I'm honestly not worried. I just don't want them to claim I broke it trying to fix it, and I don't want to annoy them over nothing. The experience so far has been stellar. I'm just worried that some nice atty I get for it won't thread on.

90% of what people worry about never happens.

Would love to be able to buy a special pricing bundle pack with the 3 sizes in tubes & shirts, just like it was done last Xmas... :(

Yeah, would be nice.

Look's like all tubes and pants are available right now tho.

Scooped some up late last night for some refinishing work :D should be fun.

Plus I have the original three from my set. I am a switch and top end cap away from a second Poldi:facepalm: All three tubes plus all 350 tubes. I think I have a problem..

Got my new Belial yesterday. I was getting some misfires at first. I had to wiggle the button around as I pressed it, to get it to fire. So I took the switch apart. There was some whitish gunk here and there, plus some tiny plastic burrs from the manufacturing. Cleaned everything up, put it back together, and it's spectacular. I have an RSST on top, and they look like they were made for each other. The finish on the RSST and the ss rings on the Belial match perfectly. I love the look.
