My Belial is starting to get a nice patina on the brass also. I like that look.
looking at picking up the all brass one. from mmv.. how much did you guys spend? also do they remove the vat as well?

So, it looks like MMV is not going to replace my top cap without me sending it back. Which would be a PITA.
I'll keep doing the conditioning like you guys suggested and re-tap it if I have to but I'll probably just not buy another.

He and I spoke and I believe he meant, "Without me sending it back" - referring to the top cap that is. On another note, my Belai should be here on Wednesday!!!
UPS shows my brass slotted shirt,brass pants, and contact parts will be arriving today! Also waiting to hear back from a place that will be customizing a full set of brass pants/shirt & SS pants/shirt for me. If this comes out the way I think it should come out, its gonna be awesome.

But why would sending it back be a PITA? Just stick it in an envelope and bring it to the postoffice... That way MMV can either fix it for you or replace it with one that works.

I don't want to pay so they can maybe fix it or decide (erroneously) that nothing's wrong or that it's my fault. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, but I have no faith that they'd do the right thing.
It's fine. My Fatty works. My Cyclone works. My iGo-L works. I don't really want to use anything else on it right now anyway. It'll only matter if I decide to sell or trade it, and I'll just knock some off the price or pay someone to re-tap it if that happens. It's not the kind of thing to get totally bent out of shape over, I just would have been really impressed if the predictions on ECF had been right.
If they'd just sent me another top cap, I probably would have ordered an Aname 18650 at the same time, because I really like the Poldiac. They didn't. I won't. It's fine. The rest of the mod is amazing and beautiful. I just don't feel any particular attachment to MMV, so it got pushed lower in my "buy me" queue.
It's a shame you feel that way, because you will hard pressed to find a better customer service out there than MMV has to offer
That's a bummer mostapha. Part of the thrill in buying "high-end" is the expectation that it works as good as it looks. I know it doesn't help your situation but MMV is definitely known for stellar quality and outstanding customer service. Have you tried PM'ing Jim directly? Since the very first DID, I have seen very few folks having issues (exceptions will happen...) but with hand over heart I have never known anyone to not get satisfaction with an MMV solution to any problems.
I hope this gets sorted out for you, there is more to the MMV "family" than just the awesome looks and amazing vaping...

I do really like it. I've built stuff with machine tools too, and mistakes do happen. Of all the things to go wrong, this is probably the best. It doesn't actually affect my vaping (even though we had to try like 4 fatties to get one that would fit), and it still looks great. I'm convinced it's the best out there and the only one I want with that style of button, even with the flaw.
I probably still will get a second eventually, it just got bumped a little lower and won't be the first mod I get 2 of. It's still the first thing I grab when I get home.

I will send Jim here to read this, I am sure between the 2 of you a solution will be found. I do however think that you will still have to send the topcap back in. This way he can also examine it for future quality control.
