Personally, I don't use electrical grease on any of my mods, I just clean them really well & frequently. I use Barkeepers Friend for all stainless, brass & copper. If you use the powdered kind, don't use too much water - almost use it as a paste - & it works fantastic on those fine threads. It cleans, removes oxidation & polishes.

If you're going to use an electrical grease, Noalox is made for aluminum-only applications. Stuff like No-ox-id A-special is made for stainless & I believe brass as well.

I should also add that while I do study a bit of metallurgy as a hobbyist, rhodium isn't something in my wheelhouse. BKF is fine for stainless, brass, copper & silver, but I don't know for certain how the oxalic acid will react with rhodium. It's definitely not safe for aluminum (not an issue with vaping, but if you use it in the kitchen as well, there are a lot of aluminum stock pots & pans out there). It will heavily damage aluminum. I doubt it would harm the rhodium since it's chemically inert, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm not aware of anything published that would provide a definite answer.

I have talked with the chemists at BKF before & they don't do any testing outside of the intended uses for the product.

I probably should take the Poldiac completely apart and thoroughly clean it. I didn't get the Plastic Stop (tool) with it, as the previous owner hadn't either, so obviously it hasn't had a cleaning for quite some time. I don't suppose there is a work around for re assembling with out the "tool".

Any round object with the same diameter as the stop tool can be used to align the button hole.

Hey everyone just thought I would wave four fingers and a thumb in here. Received my Poldiac today (second owner) so far really digging it. And the Wife has already rolled her eyes at me over looking at the accessories for it. Are there any US shops that carry the parts (right now really needing the 650 battery tube prefer brass but will settle for the stainless.) from them or do I need to do the order from MMV directly.

Congrats on getting a Poldiac, it's really a nice pv.

You will have to order from MMV. Just a heads up, check your shipping options, before finalizing your order, It can be rather expensive.
I'm still unclear on the VAT charges.

Thanks for the reply. guess it is til to keep an eye on the exchange rates then.

So are they. This lawyer has reportedly been on vacation for a month now. It's too bad, cause there are a few things that I'd like to get, but I'm not paying 23% tax that neither I nor MMV is responsible for. I've been doing a lot of digging & there's not one single other Greek vape company charging US consumers for it. A few of them are doing some pretty high volume business, so I know they're not sneaking under the law, they'd never be able to get away with it with that many American sales direct to the end user. I've had a half dozen friends get fed up with it & ordered from GUS instead.

Who is GUS?

GUS mods, another Greek place that makes mods. Arguably the best bottom button mechs on the market according to a ton of people who have them. A friend of mine has a ridiculous number of mechs, thousands & thousands of dollars worth. He swears up & down that no one makes a better switch. Search Gus mods or Gus Lord (their most popular model) & you'll find them. Personally I don't care for bottom button mechs all that much, which is why I love my Poldiacs... what I would consider the best side button mech on the market right now.

I'm starting to get interested in the Nanos though, even though it's a bottom button. A friend just got one off the classies - she's pretty tiny & wanted a tiny little mech. The low profile button is pretty awesome. Her Nanos in 350 mode plus an Odin RDA & driptip is 2.5" long total. There's some advantages to having a full setup you can completely hide in your fist. It may not be a GUS switch, but it's still a really great magnetic switch with a solid magnetic lock on it. I don't know of any others that thin either.

I don't want to appear as a troll. I've been following this thread and the MMV thread for a long time. When I was mainly using Genny's - their DIDs where my favorite. I have 3 of them, a mini and a Temon. So I am a 'fan' of their products.

I wish they would settle this VAT tax thing. It's what's keeping me from ordering one of their Poldiac's. If there's a chance it may be dropped, I just keep waiting to see if 'next' month I can avoid paying it.

Welp y'all aren't the only ones.

I was eyeing the nanos and REAAAALLY wanted one. (The gimli. As a LOTR fan, it was a must....)

Until the damned VAT. There is NO WAY in hell we are supposed to pay that, and certainly no way we should be charged for some silly customs tax if we choose not to pay the VAT.

Ended up with a GUS Lord too.

I still want a nanos, but will refuse to buy one until I get a clear answer on why MMV is charging vat.
