Alright guys, So I've been searching for a NICE mechanical that isn't made from the very rare metal "Unobtanium"

I have been on the look out for a readilly available "premium" mechanical... The Caravela, GG, Chi-You, etc... All VERY nice, but not really readilly available. I don't know enough about the EA to make an opinion on it... Not too big on the Natural...

And today I run accross the Poldiac... Man, this thing looks like one nice mod!

Really dig that you can get it in several configurations, and also dig that it's not a telescoping mod.

Now, I have a Chi Chi on the way from a Co-Op just to curb my burning desire for a mechanical to see what all the fuss is about pairing a mechanical with a low res rba...

But... I can definitely see a Poldiac in my future...

Problem is, as it is with most things... The price is a bit steep. About ~$240 US... That's not a huge issue, well within my means... Only question is, should I pull the trigger on a Poldiac BEFORE I get the Chi Chi? Or wait until AFTER I get the Chi Chi and experience a mechanical?

I mean, I figure I can probably get most of my investment back on the Poldiac if I don't like mechanicals... And I can turn the Chi Chi into a flashlight or something if I don't like it... LoL

So what's the word? You guys think I should just pull the trigger and get a Poldiac? Or wait for the Chi Chi to see if mechanicals are even my thing?

Let the opinions fly!

Well the Chi hits harder out of the box as such but once you clean the Poldiac it is just as good. Personally, looks wise I think I prefer the Poldiac possibly just because you can customize it etc...but the Chi is heavier in the hand and as such does feel more valuable/precious if you know what I mean :)

Really? The cheap stuff Chi Chi is heavier than a Poldiac? I wouldn't have suspected that...

I got my Chi Chi in all brass... Hoping that would assist with minimizing any potential voltage drop issues.

And for about 1/10th the price of the Poldiac... LoL

Maybe I'll just wait...

Or are you talking about the Chi-You?

The roller is great! Finish impeccable, one of the best buttons.

....but personally do not get as good a hit from it as I do the Poldiac. Could just be my Rollers though.

Other advantage with the roller is it will take all batteries without having to fork out for extra tubes/body's

I get my roller tomorrow, but I hear if you take the spring and delrin out of the bottom, it hits hard, and if you need a spring, replace it with the one for a silver bullet - copper - You can find those at Alt Smoke for about $3 or less..

Check the Roller/Dingo out from atmizoo | vaping modware by atmizone usually available 1-2 weeks... Also, see this review.. Poldiac BTO - Follow Up - YouTube, he mentions another review in the video you should see about the button. PS, the Roller and Dingo have silver plated switch as well..

Thanks for the links, definitely brings some insight to the shortcomings of the poldiac... Kinda surprised there are no air ways around the 510 connecter... I guess if it's going to be used exclusively with Genesis style RBA's this isn't a problem, but anything with an air hole in the 510 threading is going to be a problem...

I like the roller as well, but there is just something about the ingenious opposed polarity magnet design of the poldiac button that I really appreciate.

I'm just guessing, if MM decides to do something to add some air canals to the top cap, you can just order up a new top cap and screw it on to the switch...

I don't mind it being fixed length... I doubt I'd ever use it with anything other than 18650's anyway. This isn't a mod I would be taking to work, so a pocketable version isn't really necessary

I'd say you should check out the Presice ELA too, it will be available quite soon, and it's not made of unobtainium :)

Quite some exiting specs on it and a unique take on how you change sizes for various batteries.

But I'd say you should try your Chi-chi first, if you're unsure if mechanical mods are for you.
It's not really a world of difference between a China mech or a handmade supermod with plenty bling when it comes to the actual vaping.
I started with a Smok Telescop, and it's decent with a suprisingly small voltage drop. And it made me sure about mechanicals. Well sure enough do drain my wallet for an ELA. :)

I prefer a top button mod, and at a minimum a side button... Not really a fan of the bottom button design of the Super T mods. I want to be able to sit it upright, and not have to fumble around with unlocking anything at all when I take it up from my desk to take a vape...

I probably will wait for the Chi Chi, but that's another 3 weeks out...

No idea how long it would take for a Poldiac to get here from Greece, but that thing sure is pretty :) It's hard to wait around... LoL

What if the metal they are made from suddenly becomes unobtanium, and I will hate myself forever...

Man, this sucks... Haha! Guess there could be worse things to complain about...

Well dangit... I wait one day to think it over, and I am ready to pull the trigger, and today they are sold out down the board... All models of the Poldiac are no longer in stock...

Unobtanium!

LoL... Waiting on the Chi Chi then...

Looks like they started to make them out of Unobtanium, just for you! :D
