It's sunny and the snow/ice are melting here too. Mr. V works at keeping it to a minimum, but it melts during the day, then re-freezes at night making it impossible to get rid of until April.

At least it's still in the driveway, I found my old pickup nestled among the trees one morning. Living on a hill has a great view, but a few drawbacks.

Wow, that sucks to find your car isn't parked where you last put it.
I do like the part about baking...

We have the opposite here so far today. The sun is shining and temps going up into the 60's!
We actually hit 70 here today! :w00t: Surprised the heck out of me when I saw that on my car thermometer!

51 here today, I love it! Mr. V went out with a shovel and threw enough sand to get the truck back where it belonged. He said twice last night he pulled up to the garage, put it in park, and it slid back down. After the second time he told it to have fun and left it there. It moved another 5 feet or so before he went to fetch it today.

I baked an apple cider pie for pi day.

LOL!! Yessss! I would seriously NEED to check it out if he were cussing!!
I went to the fabric store, then to the grrstore. When I got home he had dinner ready; surf and turf, a glass of wine and he baked a cake. I think I'll keep him for awhile longer.

Good morning. Looking at the 40s again today, not to bad. Cabbage potatoes and carrots in the slow cooker. I'll set it up and turn it on at 12 before I leave. I"m using this recipe this year. Of course I added a large onion and at 5 when I get home I'll add a can of corn beef.

Roasted Cabbage and Potatoes in the crockpot slow cooker

1 small head of cabbage
12 to 14 colorful baby potatoes
10 to 12 whole cloves of garlic (approx a whole head)
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

The Directions.
--wash vegetables
--cut potatoes into 1 inch chunks (I didn't peel them)
--cut cabbage into wedges--don't worry about separating the leaves
--throw veggies into the crockpot with the whole garlic cloves
--add olive oil, salt, pepper, and balsamic vinegar

--toss with hands to coat thoroughly.

DO NOT ADD WATER.

cook on high for 3 hours or low for 4 to 6 hours.

the vegetables are done when the potatoes reach desired tenderness.

the cabbage will get a little caramelized and crispy around the edges where they touch the crock walls. That's okay--it tastes good!
