Good morning. Hoping things start drying up today, I've had enough rain.

Yesterday the county opened the bids and chose the winners. I should find out this week if we won. *fingers crossed* I did go past the place on Sunday, he left tons of junk, a huge tent, and two really crummy campers. Garbage goes with the winning bid. blech.

Tax property. Minimum bid is the assessed valued of the property, I'm always amazed at the people that don't read the rules and bid super low. I bid what I would reasonably expect to pay for it if it were a regular sale, less about $500 for clean up.

Also shocked that he didn't pay his $63.10 per year taxes for 5 years straight and refused to pay up at the end. He tried telling the clerk that he just bought the place and hadn't registered the deed and wasn't going to pay the sellers old taxes. It's been his name on record for almost 10 years. Nice try, now get your campers off my lot. If he doesn't, when we get our deed they also become ours to do with what we please. No clue what kind of shape they're in. *fingers crossed* they are not gross and filled with mice.

I'll take pics when I can legally be on the property, should be interesting.

It's just a smallish lot. .42 acre. The area is great, 1 block off the river. It has about 1/4 trees and the rest is open. Lot behind is used to store a boat by a guy whose house is on the river so he won't build anything there. One side is a gal we know, the other side is vacant woods. I'll keep my eyes on that one. The entire "subdivision" has one house, the rest is vacant or has a camper on it. Perfect for us.

30 days or less. As soon as they have the deed finished we can take possession. The sheriff has no problem removing squatters if he won't leave on his own, so there should not be an issue. I parked out front for a few minutes, looks like he took his generator, party lights, and coolers and bailed after his last warning. I didn't want to tempt fate by getting out of the car, just in case he was in one of the campers.

No well, no septic, no electric. I need to get all that done before winter.

edit: This one didn't have the snake. It does have a strange little shed that I'm hoping is not an illegal outhouse.
No water,Septic  yep, betting that little shed is an outhouse. Hope I'm wrong.

If it is, we do have a truck and a tractor. Truck to drag the building away, tractor to fill the hole. Gross, but doable. You never know what you'll find. He has a big rubber tub sitting on the roof, thinking he's been collecting rainwater to shower behind the shed. Can't see, there's a tarp. That show Expedition Unknown has nothing on us.

Good morning. Gertie to the vets. We're starting the day stressing her out. Shes still afraid of everything.
Does she have a thundershirt for these times? I know they're expensive, but I've found a size smaller than normal doggie tshirt works really well for Xena.

Yes, the trainer sent Gertie home with one and saddle bags with 4 lb of weight in them. Shes to wear them both whenever she goes places. The thunder shirt is on from the time she gets up till bedtime. I ordered another one so I can wash them more often. I did cheat today I didnt put the saddle bags on.
