Long story short. (sorry for repeating from the chit chat thread)

Wife bought a picnic shoulder instead of a boston ..... Naturally, I was unaware of this fact until I opened it. Ive never cooked one of these before. Ever. I was going to take the skin off, but realized that if I did, I would be removing almost the entire fat cap. So I scored the skin and put my rub on it and its now sitting in the fridge ready for smoke tomorrow.

My first foray into the unknown world of picnic shoulders... Man, I hope this works....

All this talk of your ...., and it's a shoulder. :laugh: It will be delicious.
I was actually pretty peeved when I realized it wasnt a ..... But, its on the grill right now being smoked at just under 250 degrees. Its going to be in the smoke for at least 12 hours. If its not cooked by then, it will just be tossed in the oven, covered, until its JUUUUUST right! :drool:

Garlic Shrimp Mix 1/2 stick softened butter, 1 cup chopped parsley, 2 chopped garlic cloves, and salt and pepper. Toss with the juice of 1 lemon, 1 pound unpeeled large shrimp and a big pinch of red pepper flakes. Divide between 2 foil packets. Grill over high heat, 8 minutes

Seriously, I would think it takes nothing but a slit that runs almost all the way through. THEN shove it in there.

It's probably a good thing that your wife does not read ECF isn't it James?! ;)

Unfortunately for you... Bliss does! And I know a girl who will LOVE to comment on that post! ;)
