Thinking of going the mod route looking at the ProVari actually the mini v2 to be exact. This will be my first mod so not sure if the ProVari is right for me. I like to buy once so any help would be appreciated. Also where is everybody buying them from is the kit with batts and charger the best way to buy?

Thanks, Scott

Youre going to find a whole host of provari fan boys that claim its the best thing out there. On the other hand youre going to get a lot of provari haters saying its overpriced and theres cheaper alternatives. Will you like it? No doubt. I myself just ordred one. LOL. To my knowledge provape is the only place to get the provari. I found through provape I could save a bit not getting the kit. They threw in some attys and tips in the kit that I didnt want and that rasied the price by just a few dollars.

Its a nice device. It is heavy, but it's built well. Is it the be all to end all, NO. There are other, cheaper options. But if you want something well built, American made, you can't go wrong.

I would suggest getting the full size though. It's not nearly as big as it looks on the videos and pictures. I was shocked. You get much more battery life with the bigger one and it's the same price as the mini. Here is a picture of it to show you the difference on size between a mini ecig, a 650 kgo, a 900mah kgo and a provari.

I have had a V1, used it with 18500 batteries. Sold it, buyed V2 mini, and now I am using it as my primary device with 18350 batteries.
I'm using only rebuildable atomizers, and 2 of 18350 is enough for me for all day vaping (around 5ml of juice).

I was smoking about a pack a day.

And it's smaller...
I'm satisfied with mini.

I just bought the regular sized V2 2 weeks ago. The battery lasts me about 8-10 hours.

I started with the ego kit, then bought the Vtube VV mod and then bought the Provari.

The Provari and Vtube perform the same. The Vtube is a lot lighter and longer. The weight of the Provari seems to be perfect to me. It is heavy but feels right in my hand.

Vtube is less expensive, you can scroll through the voltage changes easier whereas with the Provari you have to scroll through the window.

I love the Provari. I love the Vtube. They are both darned good devices in their own right. So, honestly, I think it will come down to price regarding your decision. If you can afford the Provari, I say go for it. If you are not ready for that yet, get a Vtube.

On mini vs. regular sized Provari, I say get the regular size.

I have the ProVari Mini v2 and it is currently my favorite device. The battery lasts about 4 ml with an 18350 before the battery has to be replaced. With an 18490 I can get through about 6 ml. On my ProVari v1 with an 18650 I honestly have never kept track I would just replaced the battery in the morning and it would last me through the day.

The Provari is a great mod, and that can't be denied, but that doesn't mean that everyone will like them. There are many that love the single button menu system that the provari has, but others will hate it. Some will love all the whistles and bells, but others would never use them and think they are a waste of money. No different than some would enjoy being chauffeured around in a limo with wine glasses & gray poupon while others would rather drive around in a truck.

In the end, the x.x volts coming out of the end of a Provari is the same as the x.x volts coming out of the end of any other mod. But, that being said, the vape either tastes right or I change something. The ease that changes can be made is a definite consideration.

So yes, I like my Provari, but that doesn't mean that I can't like my SS Vtube also. (or my 35$ MadVapes box mod for that matter)

Thanks for the comparison Mroutlaw! I was leaning towards the mini thinking it may be less top-heavy than the full size version. You say much more battery life could you give me an example? I am a 1/2 a pack a day smoker if that helps.

    Thanks, Scott

The mini uses a 700mah battery and the standard uses an 1100 mah.

If you purchase the extension cap and larger battery, the mini becomes the same size as the standard but can only use the 1100 mah battery. The extension cap and larger battery on the standard size allows you to bump all the way to 2200mah.

I highly suggest getting an extension cap anyway, which is $20. If you were to get it, you might as well get the standard size without a cap and save $20.

In the long run, you will be happier with the larger one. The weight difference in minimal, the real advantage of the mini is the shorter length, but again, with the extension end cap, it's the same size

I completely disagree with everything here, except the facts on battery mAh value.
Vaping longer is easily done by simply changing a battery; making PV smaller cannot be done. Oh, and btw, Mini + 18490 extension is still smaller than regular Provari :)

I don't care which one you take (obviously :) ); just offering different opinion without trying to assume which version would YOU be happier with.
For me, 700mAh = half day worth of vaping.

Im sorry, the V2 provari is 1/10 of an inch longer than the mini with extension cap. That is essentially the same size.

Mini provari with extension is 3.98"

V2 provari without extension cap is 4.1".

The provari to me is a top choice i own a few have tried other and have not been happy with them. The lt or vtube is suppose to function the same but it does not.The vari has 3.5 amp so you can fire and run any carto/atty and it will be the volts you set it at not true with vtube it will drop the volts lower itself without saying because it only has 2.5ish amp.The vari also stays at ware you set the voltage untill batteries die no change threwout battery life.I think you being a half a pack a day smoker the mini is plenty good i love mine get the extended tube then you can get 1 pair 18350 and one pair 18500 aw imr batteries. This gives you 2 nice set ups.The aw batteies i get from rtdvapors and supertmanufacturing great prices at both.

Hello, I'm new to this website and pretty new to vaping in general. I have been vaping and been smoke free since June 2nd. I did a bunch of research before I decided to buy a device, and as I usually do I wanted to buy the best. I don't know if I could say it's the best because it's the only device I've used but after having it I don't see a reason to have another device as it does everything I could want. I went with the regular sized Provari in silver satin and I couldn't be happier. I liked it so much I decided to get another but I wanted a mini this time in satin black. The mini, for my personal vaping preferences is perfect size and I can get over a day on a single battery charge. I really like the size for when I'm on the go. The regular size Provari is not bad at all but I like mini better and take it with me everywhere. I pretty much use the regular sized one at home and have tanks on each which is nice for easy flavor switching. Obviously you may or may not get the same batt life as me depending on how you vape. I do not chain vape but I can get a full days worth and even more on the mini.

Like I stated, I originally ordered the regular Provari but as a kit which came with 2 batteries, charger, 5 cartos, and the unit itself. When I ordered the mini I also made sure I got two batteries. The charger is perfect for the 18490 and 18350 batteries. So, I have a battery in each device and a 18490 and 18350 on the charger charging so when one runs out or low I just swap it out. I highly recommend the kit for whichever size you decide to go with. For me, I vote the mini for the win!!!

The vari has 3.5 amp so you can fire and run any carto/atty

That is a factor that needs to be considered if you are planing to use any dual coil stuff. However, ATM my Provari is pumping out less than 2 amps, so the 3.5 amp limit means nothing to me other than I could use dual coils should I ever want to.
Funny part is that the 2.5 amp limit in the Provari worked just fine .......... until everyone on the planet rushed out and bought a Smoktech DCT.
