Interested in trying out an Expromizer when they come available, preferably a clone. I recently bought a KFL+ and like it better than than tanks. I like busting out the Dripper's at home. Hard to beat the flavor and vapor from a dripper.

I do the same thing. My KFL+ is great when out and about! but at home it's a dripper. Gives me the chance to change things up a bit (gotta love variety! Wife may disagree here lol), and I don't mind if a juice is one that gums up wicks/coils, as I re wick and dry burn between flavors.

Plain-english description from someone who's never used one.

A genesis style wicks liquid UP from a tank, by using usually a stainless mesh wick that has to be oxidized. The wick is pulling juice up through a hole in the top of the tank to the area where it has a coil wrapped around it.

This means:
a) It might not wick as well, since you're using metal mesh, and fighting gravity
b) You can't tip it over, cuz there's a hole in the top of the tank

Pretty close?

What is different about gennys, compared to the other rebuildables being discussed?

Easier to rebuild coils with the Kayfun/Russian. Nice building deck. Building coils for a Protank or Nautilus is more time consuming with the little parts and small working space, and it might not come out right and you get flooding. I find you lose flavor fast depending on the juice after one tank full, sometimes sooner. Kayfun is quick to re-cotton, replace the coil and go.

Got it, thank you very much.

Genny's provide clean straight flavor, from my experience any ways. I still have a few that I use the Kraken Clone for instance.

With most gennys the wick of choice is the SS Mesh rolled tightly to fit into the hole at the top, the coil is then wrapped around the mesh. The finicky part is getting a hot spot and adjusting the coil so it burns evenly. After many attempts I did finally get the hang of it, but later to eliminate the "finickness" - I started wrapping the end of my mesh (sometimes the whole mesh) in an ekowool sleeve. Gennys do provide a warmer vape since the coil is at the top.

Some people use only ekowool and others use cotton, so many variations just as preferences. I have one genny built with 7/16 SS rope with an ekowool wrap at top and has been going now for months. I don't use any of my gennys much anymore due to the lack of portability - the Kayfun/Taifun/Fogger types and carto tanks have all but replaced most of the gennys I have.

I received my Provari back from the shop today!! :D Woo Hoo! :) They turned it around in one day, gotta love that:2cool:

I also received two of the SMOK 510 DCT 6ml tanks from the clearance bin, first try at carto's...so far so good. Anybody know why these tanks aren't popular? The first one I am using seems pretty good, no leaks, good vapor production, nice flavor...I wonder why they are dropping them?

Once upon a time a gentlemen commonly known as Baditude mentioned that double coil cartos weren't worth it, since it's easier to get a dry hit. A stubborn fella decided to buy a ton of em anyway, convinced that he could make em work.

Needless to say, that fella deeply regrets his decision and is very repentant.

But seriously though. Damned double coil cartos are a pain. The filler at the top just can't get wick fast enough. I ended up always spending more time doing primer puffs than actually vaping with em.

A simple IBTanked and single coil carto on the other hand just goes on and on and on...

Not a fan of dual coils, either. All I can get from them is burnt taste. Fortunately, I only had 1 that came with a mod I bought.

I used cotton, and plugged both holes, so no leaks, and wicked just fine.

Genesis= top coil = CE4-like
Kayfun=bottom coil = protank like

Genesis, when working well, are great, when working poorly, are a pain.
Think of a genesis as a Reomizer that you don't have to squonk
