Thanks for all the great birthday wishes friends. My request for the day was to have all day to piddle around and work outside with no interruptions, expectations, requests, phone calls, etc., etc., etc. I got exactly my wish. Picture is dedicated to RHP. See how well my anti-embarrassment potion works? 2000 and that girl is ready for the showers.

Bless you Fiesty Alice, bless you. Ya always make me laugh at the right time. Why couldn't we be born rich instead of so handsome it's the curse of our peoples :p

Sorry, no REO in this photo, but it's my "first ever" vaping picture, I finally got out around people who had cameras and asked them to take it.

Was hanging with some (sweet and polite) glam metal rockers (not really my music but they their rendition of a few old Elvis tunes was interesting to say the least!). I told them they were adorable and they looked absolutely DEVASTATED  "um, adorable? Not exactly what we were going for......" I said " hey, people my age think all ya'll young kids are adorable"......(and they are, doncha think)? I live in a farming town of 800 people so they caused quite a "stir" in Wendys at breakfast.

You're the only one that doesn't look like you're trying too hard.

I'm too old and tired for that. :)

But you know, music agents and such pretty much TELL these young bands that they have to look the part when performing, and they were actually told they were a "2" and had to bring it up about 6 notches.... so they *did*.

It's sort of like what's coming out of Nashville now, everything is image but all the music sounds "muddy" and very similar to me.

Jesus...a Queensryche fan, too? You're like the brother I never had lol!

I hear you bro :). Now I like the fresher metal core stuff like A7X, Atreyu, killswitch engage .,,
Empire was my first queensryche exposure, then I got hooked and got lost in the mindcrime disc many a night. My neighbors prolly did too :)
I saw them at coral sky a few years before we left. It was probably a great show :)

This isn't me but its close. This is my mother. The photo was made by my step dad in 1956. The location is Daytona Beach. I ran across this photo while going through old negs of my dads. I love this photo. To me it reminds me of the photos I used to see in Life and Look magazines. I miss those magazines. I love this photo because it seems to have a timeless quality and yet at the same time is firmly grounded in the 1950s. Mom is feeding birds. In the background is dad's 1955 Ford. It must have been a cool day as mom is wearing dads coat. There is a breeze blowing as the skirt blows in the wind. Mom is holding her Brownie camera. Bobby socks too. She's having a good time, a free moment. Time passes. She's 87 now but going strong. Stepdad is 85 and doing pretty well too. I might start a thread for old photos that people have. Mom and dad mailed me a postcard from that trip. I still vividly remember that postcard. Even though it might be the simplest thing that we do for the young people around us, its the world to them. Make it good. There, my therapy for the day is over. Thank you for your indulgence.
