My Reo order is on the books. And even paid for. God bless my friends and Family for the wonderful gift. I ordered the LP Grand copper vein with the brass RM2 and the brass button cover. Decided to go all kinda monotone to begin with. Now, to find a really cool accent wrap for the white blem door I have already ordered and received. LOL. Nothing like jumping the gun, right? Cart before the horse and all that stuffs.

Big question that I am asking everyone and anyone (that guy at the bus stop kept inching away from me but I made him stop by grabbing his mustache): how do I know the status of my order? Do I get emails? Is it somewhere on the website that I can't find yet? It was just paid for today so again, I am jumping the gun! Is it a telepathic sort of thing? I tried talking to a porcupine I found on the side of the road, but he was kinda out of service.

Also, I have no idea what the thing about the porcupine. I need to learn sooooo much! I do see it as Rob's avi but somehow I think there is a story. I luvs me some stories.

huh? whud i miss?

oh-- you're looking for an external USB hard drive?

i prefer anything from WD- Western Digital. Seagates are cheaper, but i don't think they are as reliable. At my last job, we had like 1000 servers with multiple HDs per. Seagate was like a laughing stock in the IT department.

Anything i have personally bought that isn't WD or Seagate was wasted money.

i use a couple of WD Elements (not the portable ones-- the ones that come with a power plug). The newer ones come with USB 3.0 interfaces, but i haven't researched how well they play with USB 2.0 computers.

if you buy one i think larger than 1TB, then things like Win7's backup software may not work and you have to use the backup software that came with the drive. but even that may not be a problem now-- last time i looked at this stuff in detail was 6 months or more ago.

Easy way is look at the order in your PayPal account and click the "Track" button

I can try that! I don't know if it will show there anymore. It is a gift and the person who paid for it used their paypal info to pay the invoice that was sent to me. So confusing. I can just be patient and wait until it arrives. Or not!

If it were me I'd buy a WD or Seagate bare drive and a USB cable. Format the drive and back it up with the mfg backup software or a free backup program like EaseUS Todo Backup. Why pay extra (External drive) for an enclosure and software?

i'd do that too for a one time backup. but i use Win7 backup to automatically back everything up weekly and the usb drives are pretty cheap these days

Rob has a community of porcupine that live around his place. He's known them for several generations. At one time, they used to come in the house and yank on his pant leg to let him know they were around and if he had any spare apples they would be happy to help him consume them.... He's taken them to the vet when they need care...and just enjoyed their company over the years. Lately, he's moved their food further away from the house and kept his distance to restore some "natural order." We've been enjoying his photos and videos over the years...and we all joke about the secret porcupine security protecting the reolair. :D
