Earth for now.
Good morning REOville!
I hope everyone is well.
I missed REOville so much I just had to stop working and peek for a bit! Danged withdrawals from the forum gunna have me in trouble if I am not careful. I'll try to get caught up again soon, but with the launch of my new online game Archeage I still have no time.:D

Hi Scott, Darrel and all the rest of you!

I'm thinking up getting my hair put up in dreads. My hair is more than halfway down my back so I should be able to end up with shoulder length dreads, or longer, I don't know. having a hard time finding a place that does it..... Plus, I bet it ain't cheap.

Feel free to chime in with your opinions!

A few years ago my daughter did hers. Her hair was just below her shoulders. She did some research and watched some videos. She bought some stuff to use while doing it.

It took her a couple days to do. And her husband helped her some.

After it takes constant work to keep the dreads locked tight. Some hair types take to it better than others too.

She kept it for a couple years then took them out. She put up with all the frizzy till it went back to normal.

It is a look that can be maintained and the hair can be kept clean.

A big decision for sure.

I love guys with long hair. Always have.

Thanks for the info, Karen. My hair is pretty straight but does have curls depending on the humidity. It's in good shape. I vowed that once I went out on disability I'd never cut my hair again. And I won't. Doesn't mean I can't mess with it though :)

So you're saying I can watch some videos and do this myself, with some help from a friend? If so, where on her head did you daughter start: back, sides, front? I don't want to look stupid for a few days though I don't think it bother me too much. If I can wrap a good coil I should be able to do dreads :) (meaning I do well with youtube vids)

Thanks for the insight!

Hi everyone!

Sorry don't get chance to drop in as much these days .

Friend has VV grand he needs fixed, is Robert still repairing them or just turning them into mechs if sent in?

As far as I know he has NOT stated he stopped fixing them. I think he kept enough parts to do them for awhile.

Be safe and PM him to double check though!

You will probably look undone for a couple days doing it yourself! She had 3 kids to watch so she couldn't just sit and twist them all day.

I am not sure where she started. Don't want to guess either.

Yes, watch some videos and check out the online resources. That is what she did.

It is basically twisting the hair to get it to knot. The toughest part for her was the sectioning. You can't get too much hair in each dread.

You can try it on a section from underneath in the back just to see what happens! Get a section and rub it between your palms. The stuff they use will make the hairs knot easier. From what I have read it really helps.

Good morning, everyone! Just getting ready to head out the door to a meeting and then back to work.

Fleet...may I offer another perspective? I find the dread look interesting, but then I'm also a rather informal type of gal...just ask Karen. Don't like too much fuss about being prim and proper. That being said, I do work in an industry where image is everything and folks will judge you, no matter how great you are. It happens to me all the time. I look kind of hippy-ish with my long, unkempt hair. I guess my concern is given your situation with your boy and the courts, I would recommend against this image change until you have things squared away. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for personal expression and trying new looks, but I do know that the "old school" will look down their nose at you and you may lose valuable credibility in your fight. Just my 2 cents...sent with ((:)wub:)))
