I PM retired1 and he said the whole APV Model Specific section would going to be phased out. Owners or potential owners will be directed to ask questions in the ProVape supplier forum or in the APV Variable Voltage section (that should be a hoot!).

I doubt you will be affected since he also said that "non-product" related threads (huh? Is that what we are?) may be hosted by a supplier if they choose to do so, otherwise they have to move to Groups. I checked out HHV's group and it's not as bad as I thought. I was under the impression it was just a thread, but it's a sub-forum with stickies!

When the threads in the ProVari forum kept getting locked for straying off topic, I asked ProVape for a social sticky like your Lounge, but they never responded. A few of us petitioned the mods and that's how we got the Saloon in the first place. In the current situation, my concern is people being able to find the group. Perhaps ProVape will give us a sticky with a link.

while i hope it works out for you, you're welcome here.

you are one of the most wickedly clever folks on ECF

Might want to change time zones for the "game"!

I hope I get my first choice of time zones or this could end real bad for me….:p

I will be all prepared by game time…..this is like the Super Bowl and Daytona all rolled into one.

That reminds me I need to get the wings ordered early so my fingers do not slip around on the keyboard…lol

Good morning Reoville. Any volunteers for someone to go grocery shopping for me. I don't feel like going. ITs cold and dreary and someone will stand in the middle of the aisle blocking me with their cart. The cashier won't look at me nor speak. Whatever I need to buy there will be someone standing right in front of it in a catatonic state. There will be an empty hole on the shelf for whatever I want to buy. My cart will have wheel that sticks and make squealing noises. Someone will be in the speedy line with too many items. Someone will take forever to dig in their stash to count out their pennies. Don't worry I don't own a firearm so its all OK. Volunteers? Anyone, anyone? I'll have to pick someone if no one comes forward. Sigh.....grumpy old men suck.

damn. this reads like a Samuel Beckett novel...

That's the part I don't get. I can see model specific forums being redundant when it comes to matters like technical questions when there is a manufacturer forum in place. It seems to make sense only having one place to ask questions and search for information on that level. In the case here the split in usage between the supplier forum and the model specific forum in along the lines of 99.9% to 0.01%. But with Provari the split is more like 50/50. Lot's of technical Q&A in your model specific forum, along with all the social stuff.

Do you think ProVape is that off putting that they wouldn't allow social chat threads in the supplier forum? Has that been an issue in the past? Ultimately they have veto power, but I guess the only way to know how they feel about it is to start the threads up and see what happens. If they are allowed it would be a lot easier for new peeps to join in than to search for a social group. If for whatever reason they get closed then there's your answer: social group it will have to be.

One other point that nerak brought to my attention: When you have a split supplier forum and also a model specific forum or a social group, your supplier cannot reply to technical or customer service questions put up in model forums or social groups. Just something to consider.

I completely follow what you are saying, but check out my thread and all of the responses <cough> I got from ProVape.

ETA: I have 2 Reos and encourage ProVari owners to get them, as they complement each other so well. Maybe we'll just coup you. :)

I echo the previous posts. Hppy Friday and more importantly, Happy Woodday!
I will not be battling you all tonight and I wish you the best of luck. Remember, scoring one is FAR more important than scoring your first choice. You will fall deeply in love with whichever REO you acquire.

Have fun tonight, guys. I will be elbows-deep in a seafood platter at 7:00PM EST. :)
