Hey ! My 4G is working again ! I guess that would happen when you pay the bill ! Not cold here YET but temps started in mid 50's this morning, will fall throughout the day, and sleet/ freezing rain by tonight ! Gotta love it !

Morning Reovillians - I am sure everyone is excited about getting there woods! Happy for each and everyone of you. SO cold here this morning. Actual temp right now is -20! Twenty degrees below zero and the kiddos still had school today! Well I am off to go back to bed for a little while where it is nice and toasty! Stay warm my friends!

Hoping Peggy feels better today. +1 on getting that life alert, living alone and falling is scary.
Coldest day we've had all Winter and now I'm craving ice cream. The best was when I was a little kid, surrounded by Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Grandparents. We had the hand crank wooden one and would take turns cranking that handle. Banana was my favorite, with plenty of pecans from Pa-Paw's tree sprinkled in. Second favorite was snow ice cream- snow, vanilla and sugar.
Nanny always said- "It's never too cold for ice cream and never too hot for soup."

Could one of you Cocobolo veterans give me some pointers on keeping my new Woodvil clean, shiny and in good condition? I would really like to know some of the do's and don'ts that only experience teaches you. I would really like this mod to last a lifetime.

Here is what I do with my wood REO's. All types of wood get the same, poly finish or oil.
Wipe any juice spills with a damp soft cloth as soon as they occur.
I use Howard's SunShield Wax. It has UV protection. This is helpful for woods like Cocobolo, and Purpleheart that can darken and change color with exposure to sunlight.
I apply the wax inside, inside of door, and outside body. A Q-Tip helps to get the wax into all the crevices. It is good to let it set overnight so the oil in the wax can soak into the wood. Also it helps the wax to dry. Remove with a soft cloth. This will give you a nice shine and also offer protection. The inside is critical to wax. The wood will get really dry since it is not finished with poly or oil.
I always put a heavy coat of wax around the catch cup then clean the outside of the cup with Never Dull. It removes tarnish and gives it a good shine.
Keep an eye on the inside of the wood. Apply wax as needed to keep it protected.
