Hi Kay. Watch out for Rob, he is the one I told you about - desperately looking for a Woodvil.

Too late, Andre...I just sent him a Pm!

BTW...I'm having a time figuring out the forum lay-out in your country...that's why i haven't posted yet.

Hey, give me a break... I'm old and senile....

Isn't my avvie the coolest?! DoogieTony has his own thread where he'll make anyone an avvie...go check it out....he's tremendously talented and very generous with his time.

Yeah, it is somewhat different to this forum. Take your time. Looking forward to hearing from you there.

That avatar is super cool...but then it has Elvis in there!

Rob Fisher should be so lucky, wow.

Ah, Robfisher found the Lounge. Welcome to the Lounge, although I have not been for a visit for some time. Going to get some flak for that.

You're forgiven, now that we know you started a Reo lounge in Africa!!!!

Do they keep the coffee going there, or is it tea?

Hello guys,

Newb is back with some questions!! whats new right?

So if all goes right and I am fast enough, Wednesday I will get my mechanical Reo from robbels website. Now As I am a really really really stupid person when it comes to electronics and really anything technical I had a few quick questions and hoped you can help me here.

Robert was so nice to answer a billion questions via email over the past few weeks and I think he is about to pull his hair so I figured I ask you guys for help.

A. when robert says the Reos will have the new contacts this week does that automatically means that they have the sub ohm kit including or do I still need to purchase that?

B. I was watching some videos and made some other research on batteries. I normally ONLY use AW IMR batteries but was wondering if there is something even safer out there that will work great with the reos? Since I want to try my luck on "sub" ohming I want to make sure I am as safe as possible. (Keep my ...... on a electric fence example in mind) (Not that smart of a guy when it comes to electronics)

C. How low is too low on the reo? What I mean by that is a fully charged 18650 runs at roughly 4.2v(??) so how low can my build be to fire without the battery blowing up in my face? Is it 0.4ohm or should I rather stay in the 0.6-1.0ohm range?

Thank you all!!

If your new Reo has the new kit in it - and i believe that from now on - they all will, then you can use anything you like within the limits of your battery.

If you use a 30A battery like a Sony or Orbie then you can use a sub-ohm coil of 0.14Ω in theory!!!

BUT - let's not do that straight off huh? Lets settle for a decent all day vape at 0.7 - 1 Ohm or more - because then - your battery life is longer, you have less cleaning to do and all that! ;)

A. when robert says the Reos will have the new contacts this week does that automatically means that they have the sub ohm kit including or do I still need to purchase that? It means the Reos will have the new contacts installed and ready. You will not need to purchase them separately

B. I was watching some videos and made some other research on batteries. I normally ONLY use AW IMR batteries but was wondering if there is something even safer out there that will work great with the reos? Since I want to try my luck on "sub" ohming I want to make sure I am as safe as possible. (Keep my ...... on a electric fence example in mind) (Not that smart of a guy when it comes to electronics)The AW IMR is the battery recommended by Rob. If that is what you have then you are fine.

C. How low is too low on the reo? What I mean by that is a fully charged 18650 runs at roughly 4.2v(??) so how low can my build be to fire without the battery blowing up in my face? Is it 0.4ohm or should I rather stay in the 0.6-1.0ohm range? The AW IMR 18650 1600mAh is better that the AW IMR 18650 2000mAh for low sub-ohm's. The 1600mAh is rated at 15A continuous discharge rate with a 24A max where the AW IMR 19650 2000mAh is rated at a 10A continuous discharge rate and 10A max. A .4ohm coil will put you at a 10.5A discharge rate with at fully charged battery. It is recommended to stay at 70-80% of max. If you stayed within that 70-80 percent range you would be limited to a .6ohm coil

Thank you guys for the help by answering my questions. See, I didnt even know it makes any sort of difference between AW IMR batteries at 1600mah and 2000mah. Hack, I would have probably bought the 2000mah since it sounds bigger lol.

Just read about some sony and panasonic batteries and how they were oh so safe so I wanted to double check. Over the years I collected so many AW IMR batteries I could "literally" fill a room with them so I stick to those.

T, I am not going to go to .14ohm lol that is just freaking insane haha. I'll stick to the 0.7-1.2ohm range anything else would just be crazy.

Downloaded a app called "ohms law" on my iphone which gives me the AMP's and watts which is much needed for this guy here to not blow himself up.

Thanks guys for the help cant thank you enough.

Now we just need Wednesday to come so I can get my fingers on my new bad boy. I still have to think of a name but this time it will probably be Hildebrand or simply lilly choo choo. The name will come once I actually vape but I like lilly choo choo already lol
