So, today I pulled out my suitcase just trying to pack somethings that I won't be using before my trip.

Found my belt pack. Figured I should check it to make sure nothing restricted for flying is inside.

Probably been 4 or 5 years since I had touched it.

Pull out some clean tissues and this is what I see:

IMG_2216.jpg

I take it out....just the touch, the smell. My hands start to shake.

It is probably the only thing left from my smoking days. When out smoking it was common for me to put one out and pull off the end and put it in what I was carrying to dispose of it later. Might have been at someones house and smoked one outside.

I never want to find one of these again.

A little tempting to light it................a fleeting thought......flashback.............

Wish I never started smoking..............Damn cigs...

But then again.....I most likely would not be sitting here vaping.

Three years.........lots of new friends.........Reoville.

I can win over one damn old nasty cig .....

I am not going to claim that I have been cigarette free since the day I started vaping. My last cigarette was on March 17th 2014. I lit one up, smoked a few puffs and snuffed it out. Before that, it was probably a year ago, at a funeral. In both instances it was surrounding a great loss. I have every confidence that if she had indeed lit that puppy up she would have been less than happy with it and gone right back to vaping her REO with more appreciation for vaping than before. I am not going to dog on anyone who occasionally lapses, I am going to count the ones they DON'T smoke and praise them for that.

In my case, the desire to light up does not meet the memories of what it really was like when we were "used" to the flavor, smell and smoke in the lungs. And sometimes the urge overcomes out better judgement UNTIL we actually inhale. I can't believe I smoked those things 20 times a day for over 30 years!

Besides, Karen would NEVER give up her REO's and abandon all hope :)

Thanks Val! Appreciate your post.

I was very stunned, shocked even that the thought of lighting it was there. Always I say that there is no desire to smoke. But today, with that damn thing in my hand it all came back. All the memories of lighting one, that first draw.

It is hard to believe that addiction to smoking had such a hold on me.

I took that pic and then wondered what to do. Should I flush it? Run water on it then toss it? Cut it to little pieces?

Ended up walking to my garbage can and tossing it in. I can and will be strong enough to leave it there.

You all are not getting rid of me that easy!!!! LOL!

Nothing beats the humiliation of rummaging thru an ashtray to find a decent .... to relight when you have run out of ciggies! Too bad for me that i smoked all mine to my fingernails, all of them well past the writing on the paper.

Fun times!

T

Afternoon, Reoville!

Sitting here trying to conquer my terror of eyedrops by practicing with artificial tears. the Autdrop doohickey i bought isn't much help. So far, i've only accidentally reached for the ejuice bottle once.

apparently some things really are more terrifying than chickens wearing socks...

Tip yer head back hold the eye open with one hand eye dropper in the other look away from the dropper hand and drip. Truck it to look away so you don't see the drop
