last time i played full time was in '89 or '90. i quit playing and got a real job to have med insurance to cover her, since she was facing some major med problems. by then i had written a horse-racing program that netted about 500k. when sales tanked i sold the rights and got a royalty which started at 10k/mo, tho steadily declined since that was in the days of DOS and i was too lazy to upgrade it to Windows. now, a quarter a century later, i still get a $75/mo royalty check for a program i last touched in 1990. silly hooples...

nowadays, i suspect i'd be better off with your method

I once went to the races with an few Irish friends of mine. They were crazy for betting on the horses - studied the form for hours every day and all that. I could always spot one of them on the course because he went bald apart from a tuft on the front.

I could watch this little tuft of hair zipping about between the various on-course bookies all afternoon! I'd pick mine and that was it. He'd keep on and on. Some weeks he'd make a fortune and others - lose a load. I noticed a close correlation between how much he drank and how badly he did, but being Irish, that's how it went!

Well, as part of my recovery I've been spending ungodly amounts of money I don't have I happened to pick up a handheld recorder and a buddy of mine came over tonight and we jammed a bit on the guitars. He said "Hey, I'm going to play a couple of rhythm pieces, you want to do the lead?" and I said sure. So, for those that are interested, here they are. Please do note that I've never heard him play these before and these were just takes we laid down one time. No rehearsal or anything. So I apologize for the obvious mistakes

Good evening everyone. Glad it's Friday. Was doing work I love to do today but stuck with dumb azz coworkers that really shouldn't be doing that kinda work. Had a few real close calls that wouldn't have been nice limb losing body crushing types of things . Ones due to retire soon I hope and the other well who knows. Just glad it's over and I made it home a little sore but in one piece . I hope y'all are well. Good to see lotsa newbies and some long lost names here .

Real happy with the pump day 7 today. Trying to figure out where to put the pod ( the part on me that injects) this time. Back our leg. Used the belly this week it was ok. How are you doing Jim ?

I'm fine D - annoying all the natives. Most of the work renovation is done and now there are edicts in place about walking on the carpet! i'm not kidding.
Since i don't own winged boots they're out of luck.

Glad that's working out well for you. I need something like that for the fools i work with - something that will inject me with a blood pressure lowering agent when i get asked things like this:

Driver - your task is to collect 3 crates and return them to base. This is not Mission Impossible. They are boxes is all; load them and the lids and come back.

"how many lids should i bring?"
"would you like to hazard a F guess? cos the usual ratio is 1:1?"

"3 more lids?"

Sounds kinda familiar Today the clowns were physically fighting with heavy living gear while its hooked to a machine I don't understand why the machine op can't see to adjust the machine or the twit fighting with the gear doesn't tell the op to adjust the machine I love to work hard but why work hard when you can work smart
