2 things - Chowderhead does that stuff all the time.

I groove a channel in mine and it goes something like this: Mark centre post with a marker pen just above the deck - this is where you must channel to.
take all the screws out. Whack the centre pin down and out - i do this on a vice with the jaws open, using a screw to whack the post out. Hammer Time!

Get a dremel with a cutting wheel and go for it.

Whack it back in - do pay attention to the orientation of the wire capture hole !!!

I cannot drill thru that amount of SS with the tools i have.

T

Sounds a lot better than what I had in mind. A Drill press and fixture with led vice covers. Huum ST, I got everything I need for your fix!
Thnx Mate :toast:

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Darrel - I am so sorry you and your family are going through this. It must be so trying and I'm sure your patience is wearing thin. Good thoughts to you.

Thanks I'm handling it ok if not for me DW would have sent him home long ago theres still a very real chance that may happen. We will see I deal with idiots on a daily basis I think thats why on my days off I like to just stay at home  We brought him here so he could have a chance at a decent life with his lack of drive to do well in school we figured he could maybe make it as a labourer but he thinks working at Mcdonalds or washing dishes in a restaurant he will have a great life No offence at people who do this but its not a good chance at any kind of financial stability thats for sure. Here even at full time one can't afford to rent a room in a boarding house for those kind of salaries

It's hard work making a go of things in a new country, with all the expectations people pile on you.

Ask me how i know. He's pretty handy with computers isn't he? Just saying.

Okay machinist..how big of a pain in the behind would it be to buy an original Atomic RDA and drill the center pin out correctly? If I can get the pin out and put it back right I see no problems but was wondering if anyone on here had done the Atomic? I sure don't wanna blow $100.

I am not certain how the Atomic is constructed, but as long as it has a solid center pin and enough room to squeeze in additional feed holes below the wire hole it shouldn't be difficult. Think I've done a half dozen different atomizers brands/types and haven't had a problem drilling down the center post. That said I do have access to a mill which makes the side holes a bit easier than trying to do them on a drill press or by hand...

I hear ya..If the company I use to work for hadn't packed it in I has the use of every CNC machine they made. I use to assemble CNCs for Cincinnati Milacron.

it's SS. i drilled an igo right thru using a drill press at work, but i'd be worried about breaking drill bits on an Atomic - the centre pin is big.

T

IF I still had access to the tooling and all I use to have, a colbalt drill would go into ss like butter as long as there was coolant flowing.

Evening Reo friends. It's good to be back home. I thoroughly enjoyed Vape Blast. Never in my life would I have thought some of these things existed. And there were sure some crazys out there too. One guy I was talking to was vaping a box, with 2 18650 batteries, but his build was dual 22 ga coils vaping at .08 ohms! I guess you see all kinds at these events. I ended up going all three days and I'm whooped. And I have an early start and a busy week ahead..surprise surprise

Back to the grind though. It's nice to get away sometime, but nothing beats home :) Hope you all have a really great evening!

I ran/programmed a few Cincinnati Milacron's over the years in various shops :)

I'm purdy much a maintenance machinist at this point, only have a manual mill and lathe now where I'm at. If I was in my old shop doin' mold work I had access to some equipment that most shops don't have...

Oh,, you heard about that one, did you? Yes, it happend last night just after I left for the evening. They were having another of their cloud chasing contests and I guess someone miscalculated something with a huge stacked 26650 mod. They got everyone together to show us the results of that and it was really unrecognizable as a mod or battery or anything other than a pile if cinders. Glad nobody was hurt, but they did a battery safety thing first thing this morning.
