I am so thankful there are people who can and are willing to serve on jury duty. I'm just not one. I've been called upon but was lucky enough to get excused. I was excused because of breastfeeding once. Great excuse and it didn't matter than my child was three years old.

My family physician was sweet enough to write me a letter last time and it was very convincing because they put me on the "do not call" list so I never have to worry about it.


I am so excited. Daddy stopped by today and told us he was on his way to get some steaks to grill out for supper. Then if I am feeling like it, I have a birthday party to go to. Meat and cake all in the same night. What wonderful timing. The possibility of eating and drinking my way to oblivion is a heck of a plan if you ask me.

i don't see breastfeeding as a bar to jury duty - might provoke more interest than the usual mundane proceedings.

Naturally, if we all skip it for various reasons then what will happen is trials decided by a single judge Korean style! So pretty much the same thing Fleet gets now, only for everyone! Nice.

BTW - never confuse justice and going to court; you go to court to have the law administered - nothing more.

Edit: it was pointed out to me by a friend that many of Al's songs can be considered a tribute as well as a parody. After thinking about that for a while I do believe he's right.

I'm shielding talk of chocolate covered almonds from HRH, because it's the right thing to do! She bought me some peanuts today and was rather pleased with herself until i unveiled an old ice-cream container that has 3 pounds of M&M's in it!

I answered the usual questions with a blank stare.

Long story but I once spent 4 years after my divorce when my beloved youngest son wouldn't speak to me, I feel your pain. As they say this too shall pass.

I did go to the birthday party but didn't even stay for the cake. I think I must be depressed or something. Not like me to turn down cake and only drink a half a glass of wine. Oh well, that's life. No matter how bad it sucks. . . life is still good.
