Good Morning REOVille. No Kiddies last night, we turned the exterior lights off and did not set out decorations. For the First Time. Ever. The dog my son 'Deemed' to me is maybe too good of a 'protector'. Brightly colored little creatures would look like a 'Snack' to him, so we played it safe...
Cold, rainy morning in the Piedmont area of the Carolinas today. Might be a 'Netflix' kind of day.
Have a Safe and Blessed Day, and a Great Weekend :)

In days of yore... back all through the 80's when I lived in the deep snow frozen north, we made a big deal of Halloween for our son and the entire country community. Big house, heavily decorated inside and out with appropriate haunted music/sounds piped through big speakers in two upstairs front windows that could be heard from way off into the night, lots of home maiden fresh baked goodies and hot drinks for the tricksters to come in out of the cold and enjoy in front of fires roaring in both fireplaces, the entire basement turned into a haunted obstacle course to run, games for them to play, and lots of scary surprises that were randomly done to keep them all guessing, including the parents. It was a like a magnet for kids and their parents alike from the entire area with many showing up in cars from far away. Hundreds stopped by to stay awhile, some would stay most of the evening. Other fun times we made a similar big deal of was Christmas with much of the same and presents for everybody, and the 4th of July with a BBQ and games running all day long for all who came by, and lots of aerial fireworks that night (illegal but safe because we lived in the country, a sheriff neighbor even helped set them off). The life has changed, the world has changed, but the memories will always be there from when both were better places to be.

The screaming wind, rain and the occasional burst of snow flurries kept the kiddos away here. I suspect they hit the neighborhoods with more porch lights on. Hoosier kiddos will trick or treat pushing snow blowers if needed but they are all about filling the pillow case as quickly as possible.

It looks like a nice sunny day out there today chilly but bright. I should go rake all the downed leaves off the edge of the hill to the ravine. Or maybe I'll stay in and set a nice pot of ham n beans bubbling on the stove instead :).

Your second idea was best!!! As a matter of fact...I think I'll go do the very same thing....

HRH went shopping today (quel surprise!) and has bought up all the unsold candy in this town at discount prices to add to her stores to help her cope with the upcoming typically harsh Texas winter.

Naturally to assuage the guilt from returning with her bodyweight in chocolate, she displayed the same frugal attitude in buying me a pair of shorts, which i shall no doubt wear next Hallowe'en when i want to really scare people.

Ham and beans has all the green vegetables i like.

ZOMBIE POSTER available for $7.99/free ship here That Daily Deal

Since many of you are WD fans I thought this may be of interest.

GOOD EVENING REOVILLE I hope that you all are enjoying your weekend and had no paranormal experiences yesterday ;). Kellogg is recovering from a tranquilizer pill I gave him last night which made him "spaced out" until early this morning. He is now back to normal but made me lose most of my sleep last night. Rain and wind kept most of the would be trick or treaters home last night so I get to keep almost all of the candies that I had bought for the little ones.

Veterans Day and Thanksgiving coming up next, so a shout out to all you Vets out there, those on active duty, and our fallen heroes. Being a 20 year man myself I am still opposed to war, especially in the Middle East where victory if possible will evolve into bigger problems for everyone soon after. Just a waste of beloved ones and money to satisfy some greedy person/people. After 9/11 we have succumbed to a life where our liberties have been greatly diminished and I think enough is enough already. Our national leaders listen to "party" dogmas and not what their constituents need. In the coming elections I hope all of you will vote wisely :).

Reoville
Good morning Reoville. I've been on a The Walking Dead watching marathon today. I started on episode 2 of season 2 and have just finished watching episode 8 of season 3. Daryl and Merle are in deep caca and Glenn and his girlfriend have just been rescued. I have dragged my Father into watching the show with me. I knew he would like it after I had watched the first 2 episodes so he caught up to me yesterday while i was at work and we have watched it together all day today. It has been a good day. :) Even though I am 51, I do live with my parents because I can't live by myself. The details are not important. We will be back on the watching party after the Cowboy game tomorrow. We should be current by the middle of the week. I have an addictive personality and I am either 100% in or forget it. Lol......

Thanks for turning me on to TWD. :)
