Actually this isn't bad with the coil angled so the airflow can hit it from both sides diagonally. 2.5mm 316l roughly .43 ohms, currently vaping it wide open at 25 watts.

Yours looks picture perfect! 45 degree angle eight plenty of room for air on both sides.

I should of tried a 2.5mm coil insted of 2mm like usual on the O-16.

How ya got more then one to play around with a side mounted coil. ;)

Yeah - I'm kind of tucking the wick to one side, and aiming the air to sneak by...

I see what @SteamStack means about the boomstick. This build deck is weird. For a center coil the airholes are aimed directly at the wick, yet to build the coil off to one side seems to require bending the legs. Very strange. I'm going to build it, but something tells me it'll require quite a few builds to really hone in on it. Probably won't have time to get it right before my trip. Nice looking atty, though. Happy I picked it up.

Yeah this is actually vaping really nicely. If it continues to vape this nice, I may just not even bother rewicking before the trip, and take this along for the ride :) Splendid atomizer especially for the price. Seems like a great fit for low powered DL vaping.

Question for anyone who may know: am I allowed to take a rebuild kit in checked luggage on a flight? I'd be looking to pack a small pair of scissors, a blunt-tip needle, a spool of SS316l wire, a small pouch of rayon. I'd put all that in checked luggage if it's allowed, along with a couple bottles of juice.

I probably won't need it but you never know. I'm taking 3 atomizers in my carry-on, each wicked and ready to vape, so it would be really crazy to need rebuilding supplies. I'm still a worry wart and tend to get nervous if travelling without the ability to rebuild (even though I've never once had to rebuild away from home).

I doubt you'd be able to take any other what you mentioned besides the bottles as long as it's under such ounces and in a clear sealed baggies.

Should call them and check first.

Ask about the batteries as well as you may need to keep that in the carry on.
Batteries definitely have to be in carry-on. Juice is allowed in checked luggage in any kind of bottle/quantity - for carry on you've gotta meet their criteria about clear bottles and all liquid bottles have to fit in a clear baggie. I'm just not sure about scissors and such. Yeah, I should probably make a call to be sure.

Then again, it's not like there aren't vape shops where I'm going. Maybe I shouldn't bother with taking rebuilding stuff. I could always grab something out there if needed, scissors included.

They still might flip out over scissors in the luggage though.. I've heard of stories over just nail clippers.

I’ve flown many times with my rebuild kit in a small baggie tucked into my shaving kit in a checked bag. Never had a problem.

I fly all the time. I have a Reo that's probably been on close to 100 flights...
Rebuild stuff should be fine in checked...they freak about stuff like scissors in carry-on, because you can get to it and use it as a weapon. Batteries can NOT be checked - because you can't get to them to put out a fire..
I stopped carrying a rebuild kit...and just started bringing 2 mods...

That settles it then. I'll take some rebuild stuff in checked luggage. 99.9% sure I won't need it, but I'll rest easier knowing it's there. I've got 3 attys with fresh coils and wicks (in addition to the Boomstick which is currently being used) that'll be in my carry-on. A Sloth is slow to act, yet always prepared.

ETA I'm loving the Boomstick. Not sure why exactly it hits home so well, but this thing is just awesome. Ordered a 2nd one.

I too am liking the boomstick....slightly slanted, dingle coil, almost both air holes wide open. I have yet to over squonk it, which is pretty miraculous :). The cap on mine is a tad lose so it’s tricky to tighten her down without changing the air flow. Will just need to use my hex tool to adjust the 510. Good quality not quite as nice as my O-16’s but I really, really like it!

We are on vacation to @Sloth Tonight! The first 2 days we were without electricity but hey it added to the adventure.

Hope ya all are having a great day!

Power was out here too.
At some point, I picked up a couple cheapo chinese "power bank" things - for like $4.
THAT came in handy - I had a small stack of older 18650's that I've pulled out of mod rotation cuz they're a few years old and weakening. But they were charged, and worked just fine to pop in these gizmos and keep our phones going!!

Brilliant idea!!

Luckily, I knew we were heading towards outages when we left home so I brought a ton of charged batteries. Funny story: as a River Rat, we are used to having power outages and years ago we bought a generator for our business and home. For once, we had electricity at home when others were out.

Nonetheless, it’s lots easier to be on vacation during a power outage rather than trying to work and doing all of the tasks (ie herding 4 dogs and 3 cats) that come with “real life.” Our “new normal” is rather concerning. Come on Rain!

Wow.. boy I wouldnt be so lucky without power! Lucky I've never had to deal with it for more then a few mins if ever here. I'd be screwed with maybe just 3-4 charged batteries.

Thankfully I could go without if needed.. though when ya cant vape, it would just make you want to more.

Nowhere for me to slap a big generator on our corner lot. Be gone ever night if I had one probably.

Heh - we get power outages all the time. If they happen any time after about 7 pm, it'll be out until 9 am the next day due to having to wrangle a crew and get them across on the ferry.

Because of this, we have multiple power banks charged all the time, more headlamps than you'd think would be responsible, and two generators. There is an islander (and I suspect prepper) saying - two is one and one is none. If you don't have a back up, you won't have anything. I start to sweat when my box of charged 18650's gets below 9.

Real difference was this was power out for something like a million people - and it was intentional. Power company shut it down as a preventative - to prevent getting sued again IF the wind knocked a line down and IF that started a fire...

Hey all! I ordered The Flave clone from fasttech, but the stem seems to be too short to register in my meter (I’m assuming that’s the issue). Anyone had that issue with it? I know it will work on my Reos because of the adjustable 510, but I don’t really want to drop a spring.
