So glad had a super adventure. So sorry for the late reply.
It has been quite a week with the fires to our east (luckily it is 70% contained at the moment). We were evacuated Sat evening and re-evacuated from there a few hours later. We have 4 dogs and 3 cats (4 that night as we were helping a friend). The first home we went to was/is our favorite animal rescue. When we had to leave that place a few hours later, we were able to help move their gang too. Once again, people’s kindness, lead us to a another friend’s home who was in Peru at the time helping animals there (Peace Corps).
We were able to return home in a couple days....no electricity for miles and miles and days. Luckily we have generators for our store and home. One week later, I was able to get my 1st good night sleep. I am so grateful for our 1st responders, our county employees and elected officials for doing what was necessary in the last 2 years so that we didn't have a repeat of the Tubbs Fire in 2017 (5k plus homes burned). This fire, the Kincaid, burned 170. My heart grieves for those people and for all of those who experienced loss in 2017 and re-experienced that fear/terror again.
And yes, in my “To Go Bag,” one of my most important things that i packed (next to dog meds of course) was 2 Reos, juice and lots of charged batteries.
I hope I will continue to be grateful for all the things I take for granted like electricity, a home, clear air, Reoville, relaxing and writing this check-in, etc etc etc......
Have a sweet weekend friends. Virtual hugs....
