You must have got lucky then,i've been using rebuildable tanks for the last 6 months,so i know how to build them pretty easily now,but this rose kicked my .... haha. Now that i got it built,i hope this coil lasts a while in it because i dont look forward to doing again anytime soon haha.I gotta say though,if i knew how nice these are,i would have grabbed 2 when i bought this one from vapor bank.

Since you are just starting out with rebuildables, eventually you will want to get a spool or two of kanthal.I highly reccomend lightning vapes on ebay.He has very good prices on 100' spools and alot of times he will put them on sale for half off.I picked up a spool of 30 gauge a while back for like $3.50,regular price is like $6.35 or something like that.

I bought all my wire off Amazon, one from Lightning Vapes there. If you do some searching you'll find some with free shipping and some are dirt cheap and a couple bucks shipping. Amazon is great but you do have to spend time searching the listings. Here are the three 100 ft rolls I bought
Amazon.com: VapeSupply Kanthal 30 Gauge AWG A1 Wire 100ft Roll <-- $1.38 + $2.11 shipping
Amazon.com: Genuine Lightning Vapes Kanthal 28 AWG Gauge A1 Wire 100' Roll <-- $3.18 + $2.11 shipping
Amazon.com: TEMCo Kanthal Wire 32 Gauge - 100 FT 0.25 oz Series A-1 <-- $4.68 + free Shipping

I built mine on Sunday and have been vaping on it exclusively since then without even needing to rewick. Definitely worth the trouble IMO.

Its worth the trouble :). I have 3 for a reason, lol!

I tested the authentic cups in a clone yesterday. They don't go in any easier. I had thought it was the clone cups that made it hard to coil, but it isn't. The SS base is what's slightly out of tolerance compared to the authentic.

However, I rebuilt one of the clones yesterday. That coil had been in there about 2 months so they do last. I recoiled because the cup was pretty nasty and I wanted to scrub it out. I got it on my second try, so yes, it gets easier :)

Well I thought I had 4 and I was gonna do a deal for B.M. if he wanted, but I remembered 1 guy bought 2 and another came back and bought a second this morning. So that only leaves me with 2. I was planning to keep 3 but oh well. Happy to hear the clone is close to the original. My first build was ugly, but the flavor is great. :)

Haha,it dont have to be pretty as long as it works haha. You want to talk about ugly coils, you should have seen some of my first attempts when i started out building coils to rebuild my protank 2,there was a few that were pretty funky haha.
I know the coil should last a good while, but i'm already itching to rebuild this thing,i want to try it with the chimney build i seen here a few pages back. The only thing holding me back is the thoughts of all that aggrivation i went through the first time haha, but after figuring out what i was doing wrong,i think the next time should be at least a bit easier.

I have verticals in 2 of mine. The first vertical build took me about 20 minutes, but I also got 3 phone calls while I was doing it. Its like one of Murphy's Laws; the moment I decide to build a Rose, everyone I know calls

The one I did the other day, I made the coil, had it in, and wicked in 10 minutes. Only one phone call :D

Thank you for these links. Great prices. I think I'll need 30 awg wire to get 1.2 to 1.4 ohms on a single coil in my Rose. The way I figure 28 ga would require about 4" and I don't know if I can get that much in there (talkin about the atty). Unless I use a dual coil setup. Maybe I should do that. To get 1.2 ohm with 30 ga would be 1 3/4" of wire and that seems like a short piece to me. I don't know cause I'm new to this. Also, could you suggest a wick material and maybe a link ? I hate researching junk sometimes

I wrap 28 gauge and get 1.3 to 1.5 on my rose. 2 mm coil

I'm not sure of the exact size of my mandrel that i wrap my coils on,i cut it from a thick metal clothes hanger,i'm guessing around 2mm,but i wrap 6 wraps of 28 gauge on it and get 1.2,you can use 28 or 30 and get where you want with it,the 30 gauge will heat up a bit faster since it's thinner wire.As for wick material, there are several good options. You can go to cvs, walgreens, etc. and get a bag of organic cotton balls that work pretty good,or alot of people are using koh gen do japanese cotton,or you can go to sally's beauty supply and get cellucotton which is rayon and works very well.I've been using rayon for the last several months, but just ordered som koh gen do to try it out.

I think I would rather use 28. Seems like it would be easier to work with. I have some Sterile 100% pure cotton balls from CVS. What would be wrong with usin those?
Probably what they use to sterilize them, huh? I don't want to die yet, but I think I tried to find some organic cotton at CVS to rewick some Kanger coils last year and couldn't find any so I bought the sterilized balls and used them in a couple. Good flavor but after half a day the tanks started leaking. If I build a 2mm coil do I have to use 2mm rayon? If I build a single coil, I still have to plug the four holes. I figure 2 strands of rayon would do that easier.

Actually,i forgot about the sterile cotton.I remember back when i first started rebuilding,i did see people talking about the sterile cotton, they were talking about a roll of it instead of the balls, but i would guess it's the same stuff. If your concerned with whatever they sterilize it with, you could get some distilled water and boil the cotton in that, then strain it,and let it dry,i've never bothered going that far though. On the rayon, you want it pretty tight in the coil,so what i do is take about a 1/3 of it's width, and start pulling it through the coil until i feel it start to get like a squeeky feel haha, some people say you can hear it squeek when it's right, but i never have heard it just felt it.The way i did it for this attie, was after pulling the single peice through the coil,it will be thick sticking out of each side,i split the tails that come out,and put half of it in one slot and then pulled the other half right over to the channel next to it.Basically just split it right in the middle making a sort of a v and tucked them that way, then the same for the other side.If you decide to go the rayon route, there is a huge rayon thread here in the rebuildable section,if you skim through it you will find some videos that show good detail on how it should be in the coil.

If you new to building coils and wicking then I would suggest (and this is just my :2c: :)) that you first start with cotton and then try rayon which will give you more flavor, bigger nic hit and the wicks will preform and last longer. But the rayon is tricky to wick correctly in order to get the performance and full potential from it, kind of like learning to drive mom's car before you jump in a race car. There is a great thread dedicated to rayon and the folks there will be happy to get you up and running with it once your ready

The OP of that thread Jeremy, who brought rayon to us, has condensed some of the key posts from that link and some video's in his blogs here
