The vertical is quite awesome. I'm using two different verticals. Glad you like it.
Only place that I know off that has the stumpy kit, sold out right at the moment though;
Rose V2 Stumpy Kit Clone | Puff Palace
I used this Stumpy on the Kingtu Rose I have and it fits perfectly.
I've actually done 5 different builds in my Roses, and all of them were fantastic. Its a very versatile atty. The vertical really opens the airflow, and is the easiest to wick.
I get plenty of air flow for me. After doin the vertical I have to adjust the air down a bit for the draw I like. It was too tight before with a horizontal build.Not only is it easier to wick,it seems to be easier to get the coil set in the holes also.My 2nd build in my rose was a vertical.The first time i coiled it with a regular horizontal,and it took me 25 minutes just to get both legs in the holes.On the vertical,i had both legs in,tightened down,and the wicks wrapped in less than 10 minutes,way easier haha.After doing this vertical,i am convinced,this is the way to go with these atties,still not a great airflow,but alot better than the standard way.
That's interesting, Pete. I'm doing better with rayon in all 3 of mine, including the two verticals. Its funny how different people work better with different wicking materials![]()
I had completely replaced cotton with rayon for everything, drippers, cartos, rta's. But had to regress to good 'ol cotton for these Rose verticals. I tried to use rayon, packing it loosely and then really tight, but couldn't stop the gurgling/leaking. You say that it takes little time to wick your verticals, but it takes me a long time to pack the ceramic cup with cotton. So I think that's the difference; we pack the wick differently. I'll try to take pics next time I rewick.
All set Roxy

Im loving my Rose V2, have build the reg coil once so far and rewicked quite a few times wtih no dry hits. I had no problems setting up my reg mico coil with 28g kanthal and KGD thru coil and run thru the slots back and forth like in the how to by Eden, so far, with 80VG. Love it, its on par with my Ody V2 as far as taste. Ive been using my Odys for almost 3 years so I cant really say anything about the build ease, but even though I was medicated the day it came in, I got it on the second try and refills are easy.
Im sure once I have it longer set up will become second nature as with my Odys. Only thing that sort of bothers me is the length of the V2, but I did order a shorty kit and another Rose V2-S. Very well made and thought out. I would say that the Rose and the Ody are equal, with the Rose having an advantage of no need for twisting.
I haven't been following this thread lately but I decided to try a vertical build in one of my Rose V2 's the other day . I wound up circling the coil with rayon and packing it in the cup . It worked but it drastically cut down on air flow . I popped on here tonight looking for alternatives and spotted this . Ripped my wick out and went with your method , it's perfect ! Thanks Roxy !Thanks, Marc! 1. I run a wick through the slots on each side of the coil. 2. Trim each tail up against the outside of each wick slot. 3. I cut two very tiny pieces off one of the scrap tails and cover my coil leads gently.
