Others may disagree but I find the flavor better with the ceramic cup , I'm thinking that it's due to a reduction in chamber size .

Good point, retic! The guys at the byLeo thread always maintained that the little ceramic cup in their Sophias gave better flavor, so I think you're right.

I've found the Rose v2s and Eviva-T have intense and outstanding flavor, both of which use the ceramic cups. But the Ataman doesn't use a ceramic cup and it also has excellent flavor. I was just wondering if the flavor in the Rose would be just as good without the cup?

I might be the only person doing this, but it keeps me from having to mess with the jc every time I fill. I put the Rose upsidedown in the stand and just unscrew the base. The jc stays where I had it set. Fill and screw the base back on. The only time that I have to mess with it is when I wash the atty.

I'm confused - the JC/DT are one unit. How do you unscrew the base and fill without unscrewing the JC/DT/chamber and refill without losing all of your e-liquid? I must be doing it completely wrong. It can be a pita trying to reset the JC back after refilling.

Honestly, I've never used the cup: one less thing to fiddle with and clean.
So you've never tried the flavor with the ceramic cup? I can't speak to the flavor without the cup, but the flavor with the cup is really good.

One side of the stand has an opening that fits the drip tip. So put it on the stand upside down with your dt in that hole. Then just unscrew the base and set it aside. The atty will stay on the stand without leaking. Trust me, I leave it there full of juice all the time when I'm washing the base and rewicking and/or recoiling. I usually wipe out the inside of the chimney while its upside down in the stand, too, as I like icky juices. Fill her up, do whatever to the base. Then just screw it back on. I've never had the jc move. I have 3 Roses and got my first over 9 months ago :)

Now mind you, I was a total newb to RTAs when I got my first so it never ocurred to me to unscrew the jc first, lol! I just stuck it in the stand and unscrewed the base, and have done it ever since.

This is the method I use to refill my Roses , it works perfectly .

Well the dual coils were interesting. If one had a SX Mini with the Powerful mode to ramp up the coils before dropping back to your set power level they would probably work much better. I agree 100% with roxy, where all the duals do is use more battery and juice for pretty much the same quality of vape as a single coil provides.

So I yanked out the dual coils and put an 8/7 wrap of 26g on a 2.5mm mandrel for 0.9Ω, spaced installed and wicked. I usually run contact micro coils, so we will see how long this spacing lasts before needing a cleaning. It is also a little wide for my liking, so I'll make it 6/5 next time for a 0.7Ω build.

When you unscrew/screw it back on, both the tank and chimney threads will unscrew or screw back on together. I do this with my Gus Phenomenons as well. Screw/unscrew the tank and chimney threads together and bottom fill it.

Good way to remove the base, roxy. I just tried it your way and it worked. But I remember that the first time I tried, the base unscrewed but the chimney remained screwed on. When I lifted the base, the chimney was still attached and I made a mess with the juice pouring out. Now I know to check the chimney before pulling the base off.

Must have been really challenging to wick with this coil placement.

Uh, yeah, that would be a problem :( All I can say is its never happened to me (yet) with any of my 3. For some reason, I often have to use a second stand to get my authentic started to unscrew its base. I only ever put it on finger tight, but it usually doesn't want to come back off easily. I'm very glad I have 3 stands, lol! Two stay in the kitchen for refilling, and one is on my coffee table and I use it for building all my attys.

That's exactly what happened to me. When I unscrew the base, the chimney/JC/DT doesn't move i.e. turn with the tank if I attempt to remove the remove the tank by turning it - or if I try to just turn the base, the JC/DT turns with the base. Either way, removing the base from the tank results in the chimney staying attached to the base and making a bit juicy mess.

Not at all. I make a long thin tail on the Rayon, then push one end of the coil towards a side openings and thread the Rayon into the coil. I grab a hold of it with tweezers and work the rest of the wick into place using a dental pick or pin if required.
