I agree nelson. Im keeping my cool, i have other toys to play with right now but the anticipation is getting to me a little especially with more reviews and vids going up on the 91. So ive noticed these popping up in stock at certain places. Who knows what store ordered first or in what order. Anyways

Seen in stock so far at:
vapinmad
hitcvapor
silickawicks

How long did it take to get yours from HiTecVapor?

I ordered mine when it showed IN STOCK ( not pre order, i even asked them if it was actually in stock and they said yes ) i have yet to receive a shipping notice and i cannot get ahold of them thru FB, Calling or Email..I am beginning to wonder?

I don't think I ever actually received a shipping notification. That's part of why it was a surprise. They do post the tracking number on your account on the website. I pre-ordered 9/16/13, it shipped 9/23/13. (Which as best I could tell was as soon as they were in stock as I was checking every day or two to see if they were still showing as pre-orders and I received it before I noticed the change).

I did actually place another order with them at the same time for some other things. That one showed a tracking number within a day, but it didn't actually get mailed for 2-3 which was fine by me, still faster than waiting on a pre-order from another site who doesn't actually have em.

Here's a good comparison review just up from Lordy

I think Lordy's bias for the original and prejudice against the copy are affecting his comparison. But the video brings to mind a couple of questions.

* Does the 91% not include a Kayfun 3.1-ish 510 drip tip adapter collar, or is the included threaded mouthpiece the only one that can be used? (Edit: I think Doc_'s picture answers this question, but feel free to respond authoritatively, anyway.)

* Was the 91%'s 510 center pin screw intended by Kebo to provide adjustable mount height? Was that an explicitly declared feature, or just a capability someone else (possibly erroneously) inferred? I had it in my mind that the screw should be screwed in completely, else there would be wiggle. Wiggle leads to voltage drop (which Lordy is trying to remedy with noalox and replacement brass screws), all because the user is using the device in a manner in which it was not intended by the maker. Am I mistaken?

I do know the adjustable center pin was an intended design feature. The one Todd reviewed didn't have one, and was later told by KEBO an adjustable version would be standard.

I appreciate adjustable center pins myself, and don't mind throwing on a dab of Noalox... ;)

EDIT: I think Lordy had some brass danglers to do the comparison, given the s@*&-storm concerning clones going on over at UKV..

The 91% does come with the 510 drip tip collar, it just doesn't actually come with a second drip tip to use in it.

As for the adjustable mount height, I'm pretty sure it's the whole point. Not sure why else they would have bothered with a screw within a screw.

Educational Note to new owners:

Be sure to remove the screw in a screw and then tighten down the internal screw before your first use, otherwise you will end up like me and unscrew the wire mounting block thing and short out your atomizer and have to make a mess tearing your 91% down and screwing it back in ^_^.

Which screw is a screwed-screw? (a pic and fat arrow for old eyes helps ;-)

So the Blue Arrow points to the Main screw that threads up through the device and connects to the mounting blocks (still juice in it so I didn't want to open it up, but if you've seen the inside of a Kayfun or Russian, they are all pretty much the same). Before you assemble your device and fill it, make sure this screw is tight and the two mounting blocks aren't touching.

The Red Arrow points to the inner screw which adjusts the mounting height.

My issue was that the Blue one was loose, so when I was loosening the Red one, it threaded both of them and caused the mounting blocks to touch and short out which totally baffled me until I broke it back down.

^Perfect Amnesia. My Russian came with the + & - mountings perpendicular to each other. If I hadn't been a previous owner of the Kayfuns I would've been baffled to my wits to coil it up, LOL! So, u r right about those two male/female screws at it's 510 terminal.

Amnesia and friends, thanks for all the pics and what not

I picked up a R91 the other day locally. I don't have a kayfun and have a love hate relationship with bottom coil tanks in general, so I was hesitant to start posting pics and impressions and what not.

My findings regarding the finish were kind of like yours. I didn't however find any blatant scratches, but I did find some scuffs on the tank sections (uneven finish?), and its a fingerprint/grime magnet. Also my 510 drip tip adapter doesn't thread down so I'm going back to the BnM today to sort that all out.

I don't have high hopes as far as getting this thing to work well for me, but I want to be proven wrong which is why I bought it.

Hopefully with some help from you guys I can work it out. The only bottom/vacuum style tank that ever worked for me was the penelope (juice control wide open), otherwise, they simply never wick well enough for me. And its not like I'm new to this, been building coils and screwing around with a plethora of wick materials for a very long time now :).

Anyway, be back later!

EDIT: I also had the thought that I would take the finish down and either leave it brushed or even go for high polish. The thing that gave me pause was I'm not sure what the outer tank material is? I think it may be anodized aluminum and I wouldn't want to screw anything up. Then again that pic on the nemesis up above looks fantastic Doc!

Excellent, thanks. Yes, the same sorta thing can make the ithaka a bear as well.

Thank you Amnesia, I would have been screwed if I had not seen this tip prior to making my first coil on the R91%! It was a bit of a hassle to get that + screw undone until I poked a small screwdriver into the shaft of the main screw to give me the leverage to get the + screw loose. I do find the + screw a little too wiggly for my liking once you unscrew enough to make contact but I am liking my first build a lot.

Thanks again! :toast:
