With all the bad press regarding vaping i've found myself really self-conscience about vaping in public lately. been vaping for 6 years solid and i haven't felt like this since i was a smoker. where once i was enjoying the freedom of blowing billowing blue-white clouds while waltzing down the avenue, now i feel like i'm the harlot in the midnight choir wearing a scarlet letter.

to top it off is my frustration of the talking heads in the media not telling the full truth about those who are falling ill or dying from vaping due to vaping things other than just nicotine. it seems easier for them to just lump everyone in a general vaping category without specifying the underlying cause.

i get that parents have been in a tizzy over their kids treating vaping like it's candy time at the O.K. Corral, but deal with that issue specifically. it's socially irresponsible to go after all vapors, many of whom might be tempted to pick up smoking again because, at least right now, it seems like it might become a more socially acceptable stigma than vaping ... imagine that ... despite the fact that smoking is many times more dangerous. of course there's always good 'ol Chantix ... if you don't mind the possible psychopathic side-effects.

anyway i don't know what the point of this is. i'm just frustrated and needed to vent.

Out of the house about the only place I do vape is in my car. Until they make that illegal no one stops me there. When I first started vaping 6+ years ago I was actually pulled over by cops more than once vaping in my car. Twice because they thought my box mod was a cell phone and once because they had to test my liquid to make sure it wasn't drugs. The last few years no one has cared.

And to make it more annoying the stuff appears to be almost entirely based on half truths and near lies.
The CDC is conflating nicotine and illegal drug vaping and being very careful to not talk about how much of the problems are actually being caused by the latter rather than the former. PG and VG are now being referred to as “thickeners” which they are used for in other things but NOT in e-cigarettes.
The confusion of terms is being used as a weapon. The cannabis people picked up the term vaping so now everything vaping is cannabis, even e-cigarettes which were never cannabis based.
The proposed legislation is based on pretending that the deeming never happened. It’s designed to reward the cigarette industry and punish the only group, brick and mortar stores, who have a record of not selling stuff to minors, unlike gas stations which already HAVE the no flavoring policy in place.

It’s solid and repetitive abuse of the lack of knowledge of the general public

If ever there was a time I'm glad to be a shut-in . . .
I have to see if my white cig a likes still work, at least people will think I am smoking, crazy!
No, to heck with that. I've always been an MTL vaper using atties with relatively minimal airflow and nic levels between 12 and 24. But if the media keeps this poop up, I think I'm gonna put together a proper cloud chasing rig and go out and make a spectacle of myself with it.

Now that vaping is mainstream it was just a matter of time before stupid people began doing stupid things.

Vaping was hidden from the masses for years. Now that the masses are in on the idea the nanny state feels the need to swoop in and protect them from themselves.

Now that vaping is the new smoking with teens, again the nanny state feels the need to swoop in a halt kids from being kids. It's as simple as that.

But to be like that guy in my town who stood on a bridge over looking the interstate with a pistol on each hip and an AK over his shoulder waving a flag when there was talk of banning assault rifles……other words making a spectacle out of the deal, that only feeds the monster. We approached the guy and said "hey brother, you're scaring little kids". Realizing that he stopped doing that.

To set back and let it happen is also a ridiculous notion. Rational people need to remain rational. Write a letter to your reps in congress both national and state level stating a story of how vaping instead of smoking has benefitted you and those around you. Set back and enjoy a tastey drag and jot down a few positives about vaping.

Now some politicians are using this to garner votes. That won't change. So vote them out at your next primary. Grass roots campaigns are still way better than those gigantic platforms. If you know a gas station in your community sells vapes to minors place a cardboard sign at the edge of the road saying that.

And if the government knocks on your door and says they're here to take your vape blow smoke rings at em and say "careful, these things explode"……

hmmm....that isn't what my post is
I think what was meant was “how will I live without Facebook?” Better.

The “how will I live without adblocker and tracking protection” because the answer to that is “much much worse”

You make a point though. It can be taken two ways.

What we are experiecing today is years of negative propaganda created by BT, BP, and ANTS. The FDA is caught between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, BT and BP contribute hugely to the Fda's very existance. Other hand they understand vaping as harm reduction that helps smokers to stop smoking. Their dilemma is do they cut off the hand that feeds their existance, or ignore the propagandas, fear mongering media and political agendas to allow the safer vapes to exist? My guess is they go with the money.

I believe your post was sarcasm...as was mine.

Below that you posted a link to an un-trusted, exploitive website that was blocked by my security software.
I was commenting on the loss of nothing useful from a useless "news" source.

Nothing personal.

Cheers
