I'm not sure how they can know this because there are so many channels but,

In 2015, the U.S. accounted for about 43 percent of the $8 billion market, according to Euromonitor International. That’s more than triple the level in the U.K., the second-largest market. Vapor products are increasingly important to tobacco companies such as Altria Group Inc. and Reynolds American Inc., which face declining consumption of traditional cigarettes."

A vaping trend is not necessarily bad news for the tobacco companies if they can get a share of the market. Without the ridiculous taxes they make a much higher return on what the customer pays at retail. I'm surprised that the US is believed to be such a high percent of sales world wide. I'm suspecting the number of vapers on the planet is underestimated. Vaping is cheaper thans smoking everywhere.

So while the US is currently the biggest market for vaping in the world, it would seem there's a heck of a lot of POTENTIAL elsewhere. The FDA may put a damper on things here, but I they don't hold much sway in the rest of the world.

Now I'm picturing all these Chinese folks spending the day in the factory making vaping gear, then going to the break room a couple times a day to smoke cigarettes. Weird mental image.

43% WOW. At first I asked myself-Does the FDA really want to ban a 4 billion dollar industry in the US? Then I said, Of course they do as long as it goes to BT to refill their MSA funds. Vaping will not be cost effective at that point.
