I just picked up (2) Vamo's from Exhale Vapors. Couldn't pass up the deal. Problem is in my excitement I completely forgot to pick up batts and an charger. A quick trip to batteries plus led me to tenergy 18650 li-Ion 3.7 but i wanted some advice as to whether this would be a match or if i should hold out for an IMR.

IMR's would be better and you know they will work for absolute peace of mind get the recommended batteries.

With ICR's you are taking a gamble. Some say ICR's work, some say they don't work, some say ICR's mess with the Vamo's chipsets. Why chance it?

Agreed. There may be exceptions to the rule, but as a rule current ICRs are not capable of supplying the amps to the boost circuit that it needs. This can lead to potentially dangerous battery conditions and/or to damage of the electronics. Some devices that use boost circuits void the warranty if the user uses batteries that are not high-drain i.e. uses anything other than IMR or hybrid-IMR.

Definitely a good deal and thanks for sharing. Those appear to be flat tops. Anyone tried the Panny flats in a Vamo? Rattles? Disconnects? Issues?

While cruising Vapor Joe's blog for the latest deals, I found one for the Panny batts.

Panasonic CGR18650CH

Use coupon code: Outcast Vaping , and it brings the price down to $6.56 each. Great price on some great batteries. They're what I'm using in my Vamo.

Haven't tried the Panasonics, but I have tried my AW ICR 3100mah flat tops and they have no issues.

The AW dimensions are: 18.52 X 68.16mm

I'm using those exact batts and have zero battery rattle or movement in my Vamo. I'm also using a Helix spring, in place of the factory one, though.

I know its been said about what batteries to use. I was just wondering if I would be OK if used either a Ultrafire unprotected 18350, or a Panasonic cgr18650cg, I have a Panasonic cgr18650ch on the way and two efest 800 imr. Wish I would of read this thread before I bought batteries lol. I have used both of those batteries with no problem but am I lil worried to continue for another day.

There is NOTHING wrong with Panasonic CGR18650CH Batteries!
There is NOTHING wrong with Efest IMR Batteries!
They work Perfectly within a Vamo.
Panasonic CGR CH Batteries are Hi Drain Hybrids using Safe Battery Chemistry.

I would not buy any battery ending with *Fire, have read too many issues with these. Would not bother taking a risk even if they are cheaper than most batteries.

If you feel unsure best buy AW IMR Batteries.

Your CGR18650CG is probably safe to use. I would avoid higher voltage/wattage settings when using it, though. It's a lithium cobalt battery rather than a lithium manganese battery, so it has a higher resistance to the flow of ions. Trying to draw too much current from it will stress the battery.

Just received my Vamo Saturday after a 28 day ship time from China via China mail. Won't do that again.
It came with 2 18350 gray batteries in a kit & it seems to operate fine.
I also tried a AW IMR 18650 with no problems.
My son is supposed to be trying the new Panasonic batteries with his Reo Grand & I will report on them when, & if, I hear from him.
