For your Vamo, get some AW or Efest IMR 18650 batteries and you'll be vaping happy.

Any unprotected battery will work....
That said, for safety reasons, you should only be using high drain batteries.

They should work in the vamo, no clues about the lavatube though.

Update on these batteries running vamo at 9v for the past 6 hours without a problem

i know! it was an impulsive buy. and albeit an uneducated purchase, i just made sure they weren't protected and above 2000mah. i shoulda waited for feedback...
indeed! although i havent yet ordered to vamo, will do so in the next week or so. so it was kinda preemptive. hoping it works in the Lavatube in the meantime. since the batts are coming from hong long will prob be a bit before they arrive anywayWell they're still useable in your vamo, if anything, so it wasn't a total waste of money
I have a pair of Panasonic NCR18650B 3400 mAh. They are UNprotected batteries but they do have HRL (Heat Resistance Layer) protection, this post #195 by Seven and Seven has info on this type of protection and NCR batteries.
Mine last approx. 2 days with heavy use. I am happy with them but what I don't do with them is stress them by pulling excessively high amps.
If in doubt best to stick with IMR or Safe Chem Hybrid High Drain CGR's.

I normally use 2 18350 E fest imr batts stacked. I used to use 18650 trustfire when I first received my VAMO, but recently it stopped working. Never gonna try using Trustfires for my VAMO again. Highdrain IMR ...!
Isn't ultrafire kinda fake by default? Always claiming unreasonably high capacity, stuffed with random vendor's cells, tons of failures, protection circuits that are well under the rating, etc... (Just searched ebay and all but 2 of the first page of results are for 4000mah 18650s.. reputable vendors can't get above 2400 max, usually 2000.. And I've yet to see anyone with a battery test kit get them even to 2000mah after 1 discharge cycle..)
I'd stick with the common advice: don't buy batteries with "fire" in the name..
Yep... a lot of different problems with cheap batteries.
Anymore I won't buy a battery unless I have seen some scientific testing on the web.
That said, the only battery brands that I have seen whose mAh rating was met or exceeded under testing were AW and Panasonic.
Most of the Chinese battery manufacturers seem to write whatever they want on the label because there are no repercussions.
And folks tend to buy them without question.
Is there a reason you don't list Efest 18350 and 18650 flat tops? I've been using these, mainly 1x 18350's w/o any issues.
No, not really.
The only flat top battery I have tried in mine is an AW ICR 18650. (the only one I own)
If I listed all the of each of those brands that would work, it would get a little convoluted.
That said, using both AW and Efest 18350's, the Efest appear to be of lesser quality.
I get the same impressions as the scientific testing I have read on them.
The testing I read on the 18350 showed the AW coming @ a little over 800mAh. (labeled 700mAh)
The Efest came in @ a little over 700mAh (labeled 800mAh)
My AW's lose less charge after resting then the Efest's as well.

I have some EH battery's that seem to be as good as Efest battery's.
