i get what you are saying though. but with the device being so cheap on that one site, doesnt that consider to be the same concept as the device being sold cheap compared to the $50 vamo's?

The $36.97 special IS a real VAMO V2. I'm puffing on one I got there right now. Most VAMOs you see on the web will be real VAMOs... there are still some V1 floating around (with the smaller spring, etc.) but I think most of them have been upgraded by now. So you can remove that from the equation. The place you should be concerned about quality now is the batteries and charger. If you get some el-cheapo bats and charger you will just end up upgrading down the road anyway. I'm just trying to save you that step and as a consequence, some money too.

As a fringe benefit both High Desert and Exhale Vapors are relatively close to you. Shipping should only be two or three days from either one.

There may be some argument about this but I think most will agree that those Panasonics I listed are some of the best you will find anywhere... In fact I think AW gets theirs from Panasonic, puts their label on them and raises the price. I *could* be wrong about that so don't hold me to it. All I am reasonably sure of is that AW is no better brand than actual factory labeled panasonic. A little worse? Could be, but you aren't going to go wrong with 2250mah Panasonics at that price.

Yep. When I first began vaping my first PV was a Mech Mod with Trustfire batts- came with the kit and the batts and charger/ Tr-001 were the "weak" link. Switched over to Pannys and an amazing diff. Waiting for my Vamo on a very slow boat from China (sometimes I think maybe just drifting towards me LOL) but I also ordered Panny 18650 for it. IMO trust in Oktyabr's advice.

Yeah, that's what i got in my first VAMO "kit" too, a TR-001, with some generic 2800mah (Smok, I think) 18650s. Slowest battery charger ever and the first time I let one sit there for awhile *after* the light had gone green (pull them puppies as soon as they go green!!!) I found it had overcharged to 4.3 volts! Order getting placed for one of those NiteCore tomorrow I think (AND the pannies!)

For other new people reading this there is a common piece of "street smarts" advice that floats around these forums quite a lot... "Don't trust anything with 'fire' in the name." ;)

LOLLLL yes also bought some UltraFire 18350 with that kit and they were also duds. As for the TR-001 it also overcharged my batts- threw it in the garbage and upgraded...actually threw the Trustfires and Ultrafires in the garbage too- under performers and I didn't trust in the quality

I ordered one from China too. The SS from Ocean arrived today and I like it. The vivi novas are good, I can use the 350 batteries as spares, but I am leery of the charger. I bought a gunmetal Vamo from excelvapors a few weeks ago and panosonic 18650 batteries and a decent charger.

My Vamo is still in Customs since Mar. 20 BUT I accept the fact that I paid for cheapie shipping and have no complaints towards VB...China Postal....don't get me started. Seems Chinese Customs has really tightened up on exports since the last time I ordered. Glad though to see yours arrived :toast:

No, the current version of provari does not include variable wattage.

This can (and likely will) turn into a fanboi tugawar once the prothingy owners get wind of it. There are already HUGE "VAMO vs. Provari" threads in this forum (search for it, if you like). I have nothing against provari... they are American made and have the best warranty in the business... and will likely buy one sometime down the road... but when a VAMO does more and costs 1/5th of the price (less than what I was spending on cigarettes in one week) it was an easy choice for me.

yup, no doubt that already happened. I don't have anything against the provari though..just provape, and provari users... :?: just kidding, i mean vice versa. Nah jk, just provape and their 'patriotic attitude'. I suppose the Provari runs on american batteries too.

Provari is a nice piece of APV really, and it looks nice. Its price can't do it justice imo. But the nice skins and pouches can :2cool:

..of course that idea lasted only until I saw a 'HYbrid' like this one: iHybrid . But kind of like the provari, its 'proprietary' to the teeth.. if they raised the price ten times, and cut down the production ten times, they'd still be sold out. iHybrid looks awesome, better than any other APV imo, just wish there could be some push-push mech that would protrude the tip. Sort of like the dampeners on kitchen compartment doors.

I actually just sold my Provari a few weeks back. Added some batts and free juice and pretty well sold it for breakeven. The Vamo is where some of the Provari loot went to
No doubt it is a quality precision PV but....

While I always try to get the best bang for the buck, money alone didn't drive my decision to go with a VAMO. It simply has about every available feature and works very well for me. I like VW and the simple up/down buttons for power selection. I can easily adjust for any device or e-liquid combination. I feel it to be the best value for the money and don't hesitate to recommend it to my friends. I have both the gunmetal and SS models.

Still not got yours? Like OMG. Sorry to hear it mate. Sucks.

I get updates from Alibaba (China site) on new stuff being put out there. I'm a bit worried about the new crop of Vamo's being touted. They look like out and out copies and the price suggests the same.

Hey Neil thanks. I'm okay with the shipping time and others have received the VB Vamo and it is the real deal. You'd be shocked by dealing direct with the manufacturer the price drop of some of this stuff when bought in quantities 20 or more. This is the V2 with a diff spring and washer.

Yeah, mine has the new washer, works with flat top or button batteries and has the gold spring. It is not a knock-off.

If I were buying a VAMO setup today (and I might be ordering a second one anyway) this is exactly what I would order:

VAMO V2 from Exhalevapors via ........'s coupon = $36.97. This is where I got my first one and yes, they are V2 (BIG gold spring and red gasket for flat tops in the top of the battery compartment). Ships from Texas so no "several weeks" wait:
http://.........blogspot.com/2013/03/in-stock-chrome-vamo-deal-3697.html

NiteCore Intellicharge i4 2nd Gen (yellow label) = $23.99 with free shipping. I got my first charger in a kit like the High Desert one and wish I would have bought a good one right off the bat instead of trying to save a few dollars on a smaller, slower, generic one. Amazon has these too but this link is the best deal right now that I've found:
http://www.electronicstix.com/collections/mod-battery-chargers/products/nitecore-intellicharge-i4

Four genuine Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250mah via Amazon = $26.00 with free shipping. These are probably *the* most popular battery for VAMOs and other such tube mods. Panasonic stopped production of these so get them while they are hot!
Amazon.com: 4pcs Panasonic CGR18650CH 3.6 Volt Li-ion shipping free 18650 Battery 2250 mAh: Everything Else

It's true the Kanger T3, etc. will NOT fit on a VAMO, but pretty much everything else with an eGo or 510 threading *will fit* and if you must have Kangers the adapter/spacer is only like $2... just be careful not to crank it down super tight if you get one of these adapters!!! There were problems with some adapters pushing the center connector into it's isolator, possibly even ripping the tiny o-ring . Might be a V1 problem but I just prefer not taking any chances. I keep a Spinner (my backup) for Kangers, which I rarely use anyway.

Everything you ever need to know about batteries (a MUST READ for beginners!!!): http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/355443-read-batteries-explained.html

I'm quoting this because I spent ALL DAY (I was bored) researching not only vaping mods but prices. Oktyabr hit the nail on the head. Everything I ordered was from that post.

I would have bought a Provari but really really liked the idea of VW (don't care if it's worth it or not, I like it). It came down to the VAMO or the eVic, but read too many stories of the top breaking off the eVic. I know there are tons out there that work fine and haven't broke, but I felt better with the VAMO's reviews. I'm sure either way I'd be fine. And in the end spent way less and have extra batteries.

I'll report back on my findings just to add to the confusion. If I learned one thing from lurking this site it's provari has a huge following and you don't screw with it. I hate how almost every thread I read has someone bashing something not provari. It can be discouraging searching for info on something else. The way I figure it, I was happy as hell with my eGo battery and CE5's. I can only be more excited for the next step up... If it sucks I wasted under $40 on the thing. If not I saved $100 not going with the $140 provari.
