Haha, my mate's 4 year old kiddo learned how to butter people a little too well/early, last time we had him he came strolling into the room after being in the living room for awhile and stood there for a few minutes before coming over to me, hugging my arm and said 'Meka I really like you.' I was like all right..what did you do now?

Yep, they do learn early and it never stops once they do. even now when my Adult kids actually call and say Mom I love you, my first response is OK what do you want lol

When I was stationed in Fl. I was talking to my mom on the phone one night, missing home. Shae said she could tell what i wanted in the forst 5 s3conds of every phone call. If I said "Hi Mom" i jusy wanted to talk, "Hi mama" I just missed her and wanted to hear her voice, "Hi Mommy" meant I was drunk and homesick, "Hey Madre'" I needed some money........... Moms are the best aren't they. I know I wouldn't be who or where I am today without her. Crap I gotta go call her and tell her I love her....

lol...my kids have about the same coding system on what they call me versus what they want/need. Madre is and has always been code for "I need something and this is my cool way of asking for it"...

When my oldest, 21, wants something, it's....Mama with extra emphasis on the last A. The youngest one just calls me Mom, he'll slip every once in a while and call me Mama lol

My 20 year old uses the Mamaaa when she knows she's done something that I'm not going to be happy about. For the most part my 17 year old just calls me Mom because she's more independent and doesn't hardly ask for anything--but she slips occasionally into Mommy when she's had a bad day and needs comfort.
