I'm loving my #146

Forgot which review it was, but recall on one video review they got the bottom section apart. It is not setup that 1 of the air intakes feed just 1 of the air ports on the deck. The intakes open up to the air chamber below the deck, and the two tubes feeding the deck attach to that air chamber.

I keep wondering if I should be opening up that bottom section for cleaning at some point? I soak it and flush it out but it's nice to put eye's on and scrub. Anyone take it apart like that? It's still my only dripper and I'm very pleased with it. Daily use around the house and I have a tank that's for out and about which also sees some around the house action.

I didn't even know it could come apart. I'd definitely be interested in taking it apart for a good cleaning.

Goodness, I looked around and couldn't find the review where I saw it with the bottom taken off. I'm pretty sure one exists though, I recall it from when I was doing my buying evaluations but no luck today digging it up :-(. I feel like it's on a site simliar to todds reviews or taste my juice but not one of those and not you tube, but like I said I'm not finding it right now.

I think when you have the top off (including the viking logo'd section) the cylindar with the threads likely has another set of threads below the top threads which could be taken apart but is cranked down...maybe. Concearned with damaging it trying to get good enough grip to torque it off. I'd like to get in there though. Rebuilt today so it got a good flush but a good cleaning in there's got to be in order sooner or later.

I haven't tried taking my Viking apart. But I'm thinking you may have to remove the terminal screws.

borrowed these pics and info from another forum. After seeing this i might attempt to take my Viking apart tonight or tomorrow. If i do, I will take video on it.

Quoted....

The Viking is an unusual piece, in that although it looks like the air from each hole on the side is fed to an independent vertical air pipe, it is not. Removing the bottom 510 screw reveals that the bottom section splits & is a chamber of sorts with 2 air inlets feeding into it. From there it feeds upwards to the coils. Although I'm not sure if this will also act as a reservoir for any juice that happens to make its way down either of the vertical air pipes (think Kayfun 3.1), or if it will just make its way out the side air inlet holes (think Kayfun Lite). With the air flow control wide open, it's similar to the Patriot with stock holes.
It appears there is nothing holding anyone back from drilling 2 more holes of the same size for more air flow while still retaining flow control should they desire.

Tore the Viking down to show what I meant about the lower chamber. In the first pic (side view) you'll see the positive posts are fixed to a disc. The 510 center screw threads into that disk, feeding the voltage to the 2 positive poles.

^ any luck on the disassembly?

I removed the 510 screw thinking it had might be part of the assembly but its not. I grabbed some rubber gloves and tried for 30 minutes to twist and unloosen this thing and it would not move. So i had no luck. I do have vice-grips/clamps i could use but i don't want to mark it up.

If anyone has better luck or any other ideas i would love to try them. I really like to get in there to clean it from time to time because liquid does get in there.

I guess Im a little late to the party but I ordered mine from VapinArt a few days ago hopefully it will be here tmrw or the next day. I'm really looking forward to this thing.

Anybody that also owns a magma care to give a flavor comparison? I'll be ok with it if the flavor is on par or a little less than the magma, as long as this thing really is leak proof

I can see where it does come apart, if you look right in between the airholes and the threads for the mid section you'll see a small gap where it comes apart. I also tried with some gloves but had no luck and I really don't want to mark mine up either.
Also I think I got a defect lol, when I screw my mid section down with the Viking logo right side up it completely covers the air holes. But if I screw it down with the helmet upside down then it doesn't.

Edit: apparently I did get a dud. My airholes are almost completely blocked off from the inside, so I just spoke to Tark and he was very cool about it. I'm gonna send it back to him and his gonna send me a replacement. Not the best experience for my first authentic Atty but at least I'm getting great customer service! He was also very prompt to respond so hopefully I'll have a new one by next week.
