Hey,

I doubt ill ever switch but it cant hurt to learn and consider things. Been a die hard reo fan since day one. The product and the company.

Recently i came across the vmod online - the kits seem nicely priced for what you get given if the mod is good. The basic model at 84$ is appealing but seems like you have to get a shell for it for some additional protection so we are buck up to 100 bucks. 9ml is nice. For you users how is the airflow system they talk about with this dual chamber one for juice one for air flow.

Does it take/fit any rbas on it so we can build our coils with it. Even though the amg atty i heard is an excellent atomizer ?

What are some of the drawbacks.

Ive had my first reo well over 3 years with only one touch up fixing and a company that stands behind its product. But hey can always look and in these tough times it has a slightly lower price point than the reo. But like i said i worried about the company standing behind its product and how sturdy it is. My first reo i dropped 50 times and vapes like a champ.

Anyone own both reo and vmod?

Just looking to learn a little bit about it.

Any thoughts or iput would be cool. Not really trying to make this a vmod vs reo thread but rather more of what is good about the vmod and what are its limitations.

Unless your in love with the looks and ergonomics of it, the general consensus is it's just not a Reo.

It's "gravity fed," as in you have to turn it upside down to feed it.

It's mostly made of plastic. There's a funny youtube video (I can't seem to find it) of a drunk guy going off on it after he dropped it and it cracked in several places becoming unusable.

I dunno though, I'm still half tempted to pick up the regular 14500 version if/when the twice a year 50% off sale comes around again. It's super tiny, and I do love a good ol' 306 atty. Seems like a fine little addition just to have around with a 306 attached to it. At $40 bucks, seems like purchasing a "topper" with a battery in it. Kind of worth it for that I IMO.

I only own the VMod. It is both my first mod and first bottom feeder.

I like it. I've dropped it a couple of times and it seems sturdy enough, but I wouldn't hammer a nail with it or take it to a construction site. The fact that it's gravity fed doesn't bother me. I like the ergonomics of it, and its light weight. It only has a 6 month warranty, but it can be sent in for repair after the warranty expires. I think.

If you're happy with your Reo, then I wouldn't bother unless you want a backup.

I purchased the above VMod-XL with the custom sleeve last summer. I consider it a nice introduction to bottom feeder box mods, but if you already have a Reo I'd imagine you'd be disappointed in the overall quality of this device. It's made in China and has the similar issues of China-produced products per quality of materials and construction. It's not particularly durable and won't hold up to much physical abuse. Mine has developed some leaking issues within the mod; not bad enough to leak outside the mod but still needs to be cleaned daily if used daily.

I found the VMod-XL to be very pocketworthy. It's small and lightweight, and can fit in a top shirt pocket. I preferred the atomizer which comes with the VMod over the cartomizer. The batteries which come with the VMod are of poor quality and will need to be replaced with better ones (I used AW 18650 IMR 2000 mah batteries and got nearly 2 days with one.) I didn't really mind having to tip it to feed the atomizer, but I can imagine I'd prefer the feeding method of a Reo much more. I don't use my VMod much any longer, as I like to change between flavors a lot throughout the day, and having to completely disassemble the VMod to change the juice tank was a PITA.

@ Dj tank: The VMod is a mechanical mod, so it fires the voltage of the battery (3.5 - 4.2 volts) depending upon the charge on the battery.

And this differs from the REO how? When I had my REO I had to turn it upside down to feed it as well. Not bashing the REO, but the VMOD is a good alternative to the REO for less money.

I don't know about the older Reos, but the newer models have a tube that goes from the bottle to the atomizer. you don't have to tilt to feed it.

The VMod can be converted to the same thing with a minor bit of work. I haven't bothered.

Yes i would be looking for an addition (not alternative) for less money - like the one person said im definitely in for the 50 percent sale for a little bottom feeder with a 306 atty for sure if their is such a 50 off sale. With the sharp looking sleeve it brings the price point up a bit- it is nice looking and functions as protection though right?. Just my opinion but if they brought their price point lower it would be great for revenue and introduce more people to beauty of bottom feeders.

I had a feedimus woodimus which most probably never heard but it was a gravity bottom feeder (held only 3mls lol) and broke 4 times on me - was put together like ..... I bought a reo over 3 years ago and still works thats why i stay with them. Im happy for all that had goodluck with vmod and if they drop their price point some more i might be in for one - Definitely dont want to make the post reo vs vmod even though i didnt listen to myself and kinda mentioned both in same thread. I am More interested in owners of vmod and features such as being able to use an rba which i learned - also learned its been a great bottom fed mod for some and that its made in china - all info i am grateful for

(If own both reo n vmod its fine to compare a little i just dont want post to get sidetracked ya know)

Thank you all for this invaluable info so far

You what? Why? Or, how? Turning it upside down would make it almost impossible to feed. REOs have a feed tube that go to the bottom of the bottle. VMods are like the Boge Revolution V2 and have no feed tube.

I have had several VMod XLs over the last, what, 3 years, and they are my daily vape. They are inexpensive. I wait for the sale and they cost around $50. They hold 5 ml (the bottle holds 9 but I like it better half-full). They are mechanical, use whatever 18650 batteries you like. They use any standard 510 atty. The feed mechanism is brilliant: a slight tip now and then, and they feed into any standard 510 atty with NO tube! The taste etc is a function of the atomizer. I use the expensive HH357 atomizers, that last me 2 months or more and taste excellent. They are compact and very light. The little guys (the V2 with 14500 battery) are tiny. The downside? They are lightweight construction and the battery is heavy enough to pound the internals when you drop it. They can crack. I drop them a lot and know a few more obscure failure modes. Interestingly no problem has ever disabled a unit, I can always patch them up and make it to shore. So, they are inexpensive, practical -- and not eternal.

p.s. Their blue batteries are very short-lived. After less than a month they charge up to 4.2 volts but fold under load. Their low resistance atomizers are now quite good. The graphic "skins" are pricey unless on sale, they look great at first, then the rubbery material wears off on corners etc (see "I drop them a lot" above). So the logical package I get is the raw "a la carte" VMMod XL, a spare bottle pair and an o-ring set ($5 total) and a pair of 1.5 ohm Bottom Feed atomizers.
